Daycare Schedule
Hi Ladies,
When I signed my son up for daycare, they had about 10 scheduled holidays such as Thanksgiving, the day after, Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, New Years Day, , Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and one more that I forgot right now.
Anyway today they send out a revised schedule with the new days they are off. These days included the entire Christmas week, Martin Luther King day, Columbus, Halloween and some others for a total of 15 days they are closed.
I was so mad about this. They are also all paid, but come on Halloween. So my question is for anyone in a daycare, what is the number of days your place is closed.
In addition they take two weeks off in the summer.

We are closed all the federal holidays, with the exception of Veteran's Day. We also close the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Good Friday. We do not close for any weeks at all.

Ours closes for all Federal Holidays and the Day after Thanksgiving and Christmas I believe (my daughter is never there for those 2 so to be honest I am not 100% positive) they do not close for any weeks in the summer.

I go to a family day care so they are open on most vacations. Sorry I cant be of much help.

My center is closed for: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Thanks giving, the day after thanksgiving, Christmas, Labor day, 4th of July.
and then we have inservice training (therefore there are no kids allowed in the building...
On Columbus Day, and Presidents Day

On of the centers I looked into (she's not in daycare yet) is off the school holidays and they shutdown for one week in the summer to paint, redecorate for new school year, etc.

The daycare we use is closed 1 week in July (Juy 4th week), 1 week in August (the week before Labor Day), and Christmas week.
They are also closed Presidents Day, Good Friday & the day after Thanksgiving.
Wow now that I write it out..it seems like alot.

OUr daycare is closed, new year's eve, new years day, Good friday, memorial day, 4th of july, labor day, thanksgiving, day after thanksgiving, christmas eve, christmas day.
IN service holidays are presidents day and columbus day were they are open buy no kids come.
They don't close down for vacations etc.

Jordana's daycare is closed on all the days you listed- except Halloween and no 2 weeks in the summer. Her daycare is closed the Friday before Christmas all the way through 1/2.
That sounds like a lot to me, and I would be pizzed.

I think the amount of days our home based center is closed is ridiculous. Thank goodness we have our ILs who watch Nate on the days they are closed.
She follows the Chicago Public Schools calandar pretty closely. They are closed on all federal holdiays including 3 additional days that are celebrated only in IL or Chicago. She's also closed for week of Spring break in March and week of Christmas. She also takes 2 weeks of vacation which we don't have to pay for one of them.
