DC biting everything - do you tell them to stop?
DC puts everything in his mouth and is starting to bite everything.
Should I tell him to stop? He is 9 months old and has 4 teeth.
Obviously I say "No biting" or "Not in your mouth" if he is chewing on furniture or something that is dangerous, but I pretty much let him chew on anything else that's his, toys - not just teething toys, (exercauser), he chews his bottle caps, etc.
Should I be stopping him from doing this? Is it going to turn into something bad?

I let him chew on everything except the coffee table and entertainment center...that's when tell him no. Unfortunately those are what he likes the best!!
He also has a habit of biting me...alot. I'm not sure what to do about it. I obviously tell him no...but he constantly does it anyway.

Re: DC biting everything - do you tell them to stop?
It is normal for them to put everything in their mouths to explore or because they are teething, so I don't tell DS not to do that. If he starts biting furniture, I try to redirect him and give him something he can bite safely (like a stuffed animal, teether, etc.).
But when he has tried to bite people, I tell him no pretty cmpahtically. I don't want him thinking it's fine to bite people.

My DD constantly put things in her mouth. I was totally ok with biting things. It was biting people, especially mommy, that I had the problem with. I would give her a stern "no" each time. Fortunately it does get better as they get older.

Sometimes, it depends.
I let him bit his toys, teething rings, etc., espeically when he's in real pain, but we're trying to tell him he can't bit/eat everything. I think about all the germs that's out there and he needs to learn at some point that he can't put everything in his mouth.
