DC in daycare - how do you dress them in summer?
Athan will be starting day care in June. I am starting to think about how I will be dressing him for the summer months During the day they take them out to the toddler playground twice (weather permitting) and I was wondering if I should stay away from shorts in case he falls and stuff while playing outside with other kids? I really don't know HOW to dress him. Do you dress your DC in shorts and t-shirts? Or long light stretchy kind of pants? Thanks ladies!

I usually put DD in capris-they are lightweight and look so comfy. It's also less to have to worry about with sun coverage.

Re: DC in daycare - how do you dress them in summer?
I would do shorts and a t-shirt and make sure to pack sunscreen and load them up before they go into daycare. It all depends on the school but on nice days they like to keep the kids outside so putting extra sunscreen in the bag is always a good thing. Also i wouldn't put on the best of clothes for them because sometimes in the hot weather the schools like to let them play in the water and sometimes it can get a bit messy. But they always love it. That's been my experience with our daycare.

Don't think capris on Athan will look as cute as I am sure they do on your DD. So hard to dress boys for summer - I feel like it's either long pants or shorts and no in between. Why am I so freaked out about him messing up his knees with falls???

i dress DD in carters play clothes-cotton shorts, tanks, t's also target has cute cotton sets, as does gap-they have playwear as well. since DD can get messy there i make sure it is stuff that is easy to clean and durable. edited to add- i think you just got to bite the bullet with him falling. it's going to happen here and there. i don't know what else you could put him in on a hot summer day-shorts seem to be the only answer i think. capris on boys i'm not sure about.

Good point! I would do shorts and a t-shirt and just give them sunscreen to use.

Ok dumb Q - do I put sunscreen on at 7 am before I drop him off? They also put it on before they take them out.

So I guess it looks like shorts - I don't know why I think he will be getting bounced around and dropped on the ground with knees splitting open. Sorry - first time he will be in daycare with other toddlers

don't worry! he'll be fine! believe me i worried about that too- DD began daycare @ 15 months and was a wobbly walker. i even thought for a split second of putting knee pads on her! but nothing bad will happen to him! i realized that she could fall playing at the playground with me and at daycare too. good luck!
