Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
I feel silly asking but I keep doubting myself...
My munchkin will be here for the summer months...I'm thinking that for the most part when we are inside in the AC she will wear light pants and onesies or pjs - log or short sleeved but light.
But outside - if it's the two of us (walking) I could put her in just a onesie and have a receiving blanket. Maybe a light summer dress if we visit people.
Is this right? I know - silly but is my expectation for dressing her right? Do they have to be kept warmer or cooler than I am understanding?

Re: Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
That sounds about right. My DD was born 9/7/05 and it was a pretty hot September...that's pretty much what she was wearing.
I've heard that newborns should be dressed like you would be in the hot weather and should have one more layer than what you would wear when it's cold.

Re: Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
I was thinking the same thing for my baby boy what to dress him like for the summer. Everytime I go shopping I am hesitate to pick up stuff because it feels too heavy for the summer.
I am going to do short sleeve onsies and shorts whenever they come out in the stores because all I keep coming across are pants cute little short sets with macthing hats And I guess when we are inside in the AC some pants

Re: Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
yup..u are right girly.
I have purchased already (yes....shopping like crazy) cute little dresses with bloomer bottoms and I got like sleeveless outfits kind of like onesies.
From what I can remember, my SIL who had all her 3 boys in the summer kept them in onesies and just always kept a blanket around.
I bought one of these:

Re: Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
My baby will be here in the summer and I say onesies are a good idea and cute little dresses if it is a girl (which I think i am having). I saw a lot of cute stuff for summer at Carters in Carle Place the other day and also very cute onesies. You should check them out.

I feel so much better - thank you all for responding. I am definitey going to look into more lightweight outfits like the onesies and dresses.

She is due end of April so I figured May. So I went with 0-3 months. Depends on the brand too because some are cut smaller or bigger.
Oh and I went to Marshall's and got that Ralph Lauren outfit! Go there! Massapequa one has some

I would wait until you are very close to DD so you have an idea about the baby's size.

Re: Summer Babies - ? on what to dress
the big thing to remember - is dress them like you are dressing yourself. If you have shorts and a T on - they should not be wearing a sweater/blanket, etc.
My DS lived in onsies his firsta nd second summers!

What you are saying sounds right to me. I've bought him some short sleeve outfits and some long sleeve one's for days/nights that are cooler.
