Re: DC's teachers are both 23yo
Last year, DS2 had a first year teacher for 2nd grade. I was nervous because he’s the kind of kid who can test boundaries and manipulate people. She was amazing. She communicated more with me than any teacher my kids had previously and really worked on finding strategies that brought out the best in him. He has always been strong academically, but he made so much progress behaviorally and I attribute much of his success to her.
This year is a learning curve for everyone. I wouldn’t be nervous simply because of someone’s lack of experience. Everyone will be trying to figure out a new way of teaching together.

DC's teachers are both 23yo
I'm not sure what he problem is. Teachers are 22 -23 when they start?????????? At least they are up on the technology and won't be boo hooing about having to virtual teach.

DC's teachers are both 23yo
I want to know how these 22 year olds are getting real teaching jobs? My wife has been trying for years and can't seem to get into a LI district, even interviews.

Interestingly enough, both the new teachers were graduates of the district that we are in. Wonder if that matters - connections maybe? Or maybe they like to select from "their own."
Nevertheless, I just got a personalized message from one that completely blew me away. It basically said that DS was hardworking and doing really well. Also some really personal info about him - all positive. Wow. Very impressed!

SCORE!! I find the young teachers are nicer. The older ones that we have encountered are just over it! Especially with the elementary set.

Yes, I think that's it. As with everything, it's who you know!

i think it is a benefit ! alot of teachers who have been there for years seem burnt out , overly stressed and lacking patience.
