Blueberries can be bitter you can try squeezing the fruit out of the outer skin. Also I have read you should try something 10 times before giving up on it. The way you feed her now will set up her tastes for the rest of childhood. Try some melon-its sweet my kids love it, mango, apple, pear, etc

Re: DD hates fruits and veggies
my ped said all fruits except for strawberries and citrus were fine before a year. DS can now have citrus, we haven't tried strawberries yet but we will soon.

I did that..Ugh! Melon is a good idea, I've been bad with being consistent in having her eat fruit, she had no problem with purees but now that she's discovered puffs and cheerios she doesn't want to snack on the fruit

Play around wiith how you cut it. I was just about to post a list Parents magazine had of all the foods you should feed your child by the time they are 1 and I was SHOCKED! And i feed them a pretty varied diet...I'll post in a few so you can see. You can also play games-with my boys when we were doing a lot of baby food an dthey would get diastracted-I would take the spoon up in the air and say vroom, vroom and shale the spoon like it was a car, then push it reallly fast towards their mouth and say ZOOM! They loved it-maybe try something like that

Re: DD hates fruits and veggies
Charlotte prefers the larger b/berries - they're not as tart. Raisins. She loves melons - water, honeydew, canteloupe. Apples, peaches, pear (she prefers when they're very ripe - soft), plum...I peel all the skins off with a peeler and then cut them into strips. She has all her teeth (save for the 2y molars that are coming up/down now) so she does good with strips rather than small pieces. Have her dip them in yogurt. She loves cucumber (though they taste like azz now after having grown them in our garden this summer).
Play with color...they say toddlers like variety in color. I give her peppers - red, green, orange & yellow and have her dip them in a ranch dressing, hummus or tzachiki sauce (yugurt cucumber sauce).
Again, they say toddlers love to dip...maybe make zucchini bread or pumpkin muffins and have her dip them in applesauce. Charlie loves it...

Re: DD hates fruits and veggies
Have you tried mixing the fruit in other stuff - like oatmeal or yogurt? My DC love blueberries mixed in their oatmeal - I put the blueberries in the blender with some milk and then mix that into the oatmeal. I do the same thing when I mix berries into yogurt.
As for veggies, DS started to spit them out. I sauteed some broccoli in garlic and olive oil, and he really liked that. I've also been getting it into them by giving them veggie burgers.

Re: DD hates fruits and veggies
she did good with Milas mangoes!! Natures promise makes a ton of frozen organic fruit pieces that i buy and she LOVES..mangoes, blueberries, raspberries, cherries..i would stop the puffs and cheerios now./.eventually shell eat the fruit..shell have to if shes hungry enough lol
what about the cereal fruit bars? Earths best makes em with banana strawberry, and apple. ,Mila eats ALL of those..break it up into lil pieces so she can do it herself.
for veggie snacks at least try the pirate booty with green veggies in em lol or buy dried veggies..they sell em at trader joes..
ets: cut up pear..Mila will eat an entire pear for lunch with a yogurt..thats ALOT..try it she make go for it..cut it up into pieces she can grab at.. make sure its very ripe..
DRmom i cant wait to see the list you have..i heard that too..theres a TON of food we should be introducing now..Mila has a pretty wide variety but im dying to see what ive missed

What size pea peices do you give her? I can't imagine my DD being able to eat raw fruit (like a pear) just yet.
I dont feel my DD is ready for fruit or veggies uncooked. I am worried to try, fear of choking.
DRmom, please post that list. I can't wait to see how "bad" I am doing, lol.

Re: DD hates fruits and veggies
Definitely try mango. That's probably DS's favorite fruit. If you don't want to buy fresh ones, Whole Foods has cut up frozen mangoes. Over the summer, I also gave DS watermelon a lot, which he seemed to like.

Tried mango today and she spit it right out, I EVEN mixed it with yogurt and spit it out a long with the yogurt I think she was disracted by Milas' poop that day so she just ate the mango Jaime...

goobster..im telling you,.i think our dc's are around the same age..try a VERY ripe pear..they literally break up in her mouth..shes not big on chunky food, and still eats purees too so i have to find VERY muchy solids, if that makes sense..peas, mango, apples (cooked, and then cut into hand held pieces) blueberries..etc Jen..lmao to your post, but also i thought of this, try a Vans organic blueberry waffle (give her half for a snack) and smother it with applesauce, this way it gets mushy, but still stays piecey..if you know what i mean

Thank you. I didn't realize you were cooking the apples. I gotta try a very ripe pear. Yes, our DC are around the same age.
