DD Sleeping Habits - Need Help!!!
Ella is 4 months old and lately she goes to bed at 8pm and gets up at 2am for a feeding and diaper change. Our problem is that our wonderful little princess will want to stay up until about 4am or 5am. She wants to play and DH and I do not want to encourage this behavior with her.
Sometimes she is sleepy as hell but insists on fighting the sleep. We sometimes puts her in the bed with us but she will toss, turn, coos, and laugh trying to get us to play with her. Dh and I are so tired sometimes because we will stay up with her until she falls back asleep.
What can you all suggest for us to do and did you all have this problem with your DC?TIA

DD was doing the same thing for a very short period, maybe a few nights. I would try everything and she would still be up so then I would just put the mobile on and leave and she would "play" and eventually fall asleep.

We've tried that but she only cries for us to pick her up.

Re: DD Sleeping Habits - Need Help!!!
Is she swaddled? Try to get her to associate swaddling with sleeping?
When that used to happen with Jack - honestly - all I would do is rock him back to sleep. Sometimes he would be wide awake - but once I gave him a few ounces he would start to get tired. Sometimes I would have to rock him for 45 mins - others only 15 mins.
Sorry - he was never really great at sleeping so I"m not one to be giving advice.

We stop swaddling her at 2 weeks old. She was a great sleeper for a while but now her sleeping habit is changing.
Trust me I have tried rocking Ella and sometimes she may fall asleep after 30 minutes or more and another times she just gives us a fight. Thanks for the suggestion.

This sounds exactly like my daughter. I'm trying to figure it out as well. I'm just amazed that I can go through life functioning on 4-5 hours sleep when I used to need 8-10 hours!

Yup, I dunno how I survive on so little sleep. Luckily, I don't have to get up to go to work in the mornings because I know would be such a miserable old hag. I am hoping that it will get better for us.

Re: DD Sleeping Habits - Need Help!!!
Here's what we do if Vincent wakes up ..
we feed him in the dark, don't speak and and don't chane his diaper unless it feels extra full. It took us a while to get used to not dong a whole routine in the middle of the night, but it is a blessing. If he wakes up (which is rare these days), he basically sleeps through his bottle because we keep the lights off and are silent. I also glide him in the rocking chair as I feed him.
