DD threw up SO much formula last night...help...
I introduced Enfamil Lipil to DD the first night we were home from the hospital (in the ready-to-use version)and then I went straight to breastmilk for 7 weeks, with some bottles (like once a week) of formula here and there. Never any problems. Yesterday I received a big jar of powdered formula and at DD's 3am feeding I gave her 4 ounces of it. According to the directions I should pour 4 ounces of water and two scoops of formula...
Well, DD drank half the bottle and started throwing up everywhere. It was insane. It was all over both of us and coming out her nose and I felt so bad for her. Then she fell asleep and woke back up and I picked her up and she threw up more! What did I do wrong? I have given her the powered formula before (from the packets which are already measured out)....but this is the first time I measured it. I checked the directions several times and I know I did it right, but maybe I put too much in each scoop?
Any advice? TIA!!

I know with my DD that going from RTF to powder upset her stomach.

dd used to always throw up with enfamil with lipil...I had to switch her to enfamil ar and it has been great
Poor baby ...you did not do anything wrong though...it may just be too harsh on her stomach.

We found that putting too much formula in gave our daughter gas, rather than causing her to throw up, so I dont' think it was anything you did! It was most likely a reaction to the formula itself. I would call the doctor to see if he/she has any suggestions. That throwing up is scary!!

It could just be a coincidence. But was the water or the bottle cold? My DS does NOT do well with cold bottles, he either spits up or throws it up.
