not sure if it is the normal or not, but dd was the same way. she was only happy if she was standing - my dd never wanted to sit still.

Wow! What a strong baby! Can she pull herself up? DD is 6 1/2 months and she is just starting to sit on her own and rocks when she's on her hands on knees. Your dd is advanced! Chat Icon

Re: DD will be 6 months on Monday.....Is this normal??

Thanks!! She can't pull herself up on her own yet, but if I give her one finger she can pull herself up to standing. She just started sitting up on her own on Mother's Day, now this. She has been trying to stand since three months. I think she is going to be running around this house in a month or two. I keep telling her to slow down. She seems to be trying to bypass the whole crawling thing..which we are making sure we get plenty of tummy time and practice at crawling. Slow down baby girl, mommy is not ready for you to grow up so fast!!

This is how DD is too. She will not bend her legs at all, all she wants to do is stand.Chat Icon

Re: DD will be 6 months on Monday.....Is this normal??

Im not help if its 'normal' or not either but DD has been wanting to stand since she was about 2.5-3 months...she has great leg stength and im sure when her upper body strength catches up I will be in your exact situation!! shes already sitting at 4.5 months (using her hands to help herself sit) not getting there herself of course but sitting and reaching for her toys! ack

they do grow up waaaay too quickly!!!!

Re: DD will be 6 months on Monday.....Is this normal??

Yes, my dd started that around 6m.. constantly wanted to stand and now at 8m still just wants to stand. Shes not able to do alone, but she still wants to hold on to stuff or us. Shes not able to get into standing position by herself, so she will cry until you put her that way.

The exersaucer seems to keep her happy b/c she can stand up on her own in that.
