DD's nose is running like a faucet!!!
It's clear for now...but what should I do...I sat in the steam with her, turned on a humidifier for her..Should I give her tylenol, she's in good spirits but is having a hard time napping bc she's congested....Any good tips would be appreciated!!!

Could be a reaction from her flu shot, no?

def not...she got it on Wed, any reaction would have been earlier. No fever or anything either, it's obviously a cold, and she's in good spirits...She actually had no reaction to the flu shot what so ever...
I think it's from her Gymboree class on Friday, it was a huge class, DD was into EVERYTHING and I'm usually diligent with everything that she touches and I couldn't keep up with her plus I sanitized her hands a few mins after the class and I normally do it right after

Re: DD's nose is running like a faucet!!!
keep her well hydrated so that it will remain liquid and not get too thick. You can suction her if she is uncomfortable or give saline drops to help suction if it gets thick or crusty.
Otherwise - I don't think you need to give tylenol unless she is uncomfortable (as in cranky and in pain) if she is in good spirits you probably don't need it.
If you can move your humidifier to a room that she plays in so she has the moist air all day and night that is helpful too.
Some people swear by baby vicks on the feet but I have never needed it or tried it so I can't comment on that trick.
Etd to add let her sleep in a seat or elevated (pillow under her mattress or raise one end of her crib) that will help as well.

Re: DD's nose is running like a faucet!!!
Just use a humidifier. If you want you can try those saline drops, or use the nasal aspirator to remove some mucus. I think you are only supposed to use that twice a day though so as not to inflame their noses.
There really isn't much else. I wouldn't give tylenol unless there is a fever.

DS and her really must be twins. He is the same exact way since yesterday. he is NOT in good spirits though. I ran the shower too and put the humidifier in his room last night and for his naps today. He will not let me come near him with the aspirator. Poor babies!!! Hope she feels better soon!

OY....I hope she doesn't become a crankpot tomorrow....She hasn't been napping well bc she's either congested or waking up from sneezing I'm going to take her to the ped tomorrow...I don't think it's teething bc her eyes are watery/glazed too I hope he feels better soon!!!!

Re: DD's nose is running like a faucet!!!
I think everyone has put in the same I was going to say..
No tylenol unless she's cranky
Humidifier
I actually have used the baby vicks but normally only for stuffiness not runny.
I use the saline drops and aspirate.
I try to give clear fluids when i can. Milk made it harder for her to breathe. But when she was smaller it was only say an once at the end of her bottle to just 'wash' down the milk away from the back of her through so the mucus could flow down and away.
Good Luck! Thank god she's still herself and happy!

Re: DD's nose is running like a faucet!!!
Mine too.. He is so miserable. I used saline and the doctor mentioned a while back that I could use nose drops called Little Noses as a decongestant.
He is soo close to running a fever. 99.3... but, not reallly yet. Just crazy cranky.

Oregon Grape Root.....
Herbs for Kids makes a liquid that really helps when your LO is fighitng something. It worked for my little guy when he srarted with a runny nose last week. You can get it at vitamin shops/health food stores.
I received this very good avdvice from my pediatriac chiropractor, Dr. Statler
