Dear Carvel
To the inventor of the carvel ice cream cake:
I love you. Thank you for your contribution in my life. I don't know how or when or why you decided to put cookie crunchies in between vanilla and chocolate but it is ingenious. Perhaps the best invention of our time.
So mr carvel cake inventing man I applaud you!

ETA: Chocolate are the best but I heard they were coming out with COOKIE???  Wait-- did yours have the cookie ones?? I have only had plain brown chocolate-- and don't get me wrong- they are amazing but COOKIE with that?? Hmm

I couldn't agree more. The inventor actually was Tom Carvel (anyone else remember the old commercials?). The original Carvel in Hartsdale (lower Westchester) is about to be demolished.  My sister sent me a link to the news story the other day; she thinks the current owner of that particular location should be put in front of the firing squad. I tend to agree.

If you want cake put you don't want the hassle of slicing, some Carvels have hard ice cream cake ice cream. They mix vanilla, chocolate, and the crunchies!

No judgment here. We typically have leftovers for breakfast after the previous night's celebration.

OMG...... this is my latest addiction..... I made DH go to carvel last night to get one.......... and for all those who may be interested.................. they now put chocalate syrup in the middle w/the crunchies.............sooooooo goooooood......

I could be mistaken but a few weeks ago I could have sworn that they said that Carvel is out of business and they are closing all of their stores.

Amen..Carvel rocks..there are very few things I like better than Vanilla with chocolate crunchies.
