Re: Dear email forwarders
omg Red! I just came across a website about fowards...this is how it starts...
It's such a mess. Millions of people on the internet have nothing better to do than abuse bandwidth by sending out chainletters and useless email. Thousands more are filling unsuspecting email boxes with unwanted advertisements as we speak. And those few forwards that are actually amusing or interesting continue to circulate like some incurable plague, finding their way to the same mailboxes over and over and over and over and over and over and over.......
So what we have here will eventually hopefully become a forum for the discussion of email forwarding. Perhaps the mobilization of a movement to stop this abuse, this abomination of the internet. For now, it is just a collection of stuff that I have actually been glad to have received. Hopefully instead of forwarding email as an alternative to actually writing each other, we can all just stop into BL.net's archive of email forwards, read all the good stuff, and be done with it.
If you really think you have something good that should be posted here, by all means, send it. Just keep in mind that we are about "quality" here at BL.net, not "quantity".

Maybe you were not talking about myspace but you were talking about chainletters and it made me think of this incident and i wanted to speak my mind because I feel like I got flamed for sending 1 thing and that's it your not my friend on myspace anymore because you sent me a chainletter and I dont want to hear you out and let me delete you before you explain why.
E.T.A. they should get rid off the chainletters on myspace maybe someone can complain about the chainletters. So now i explained myself on the boards infront of everyone that is it I am not going to fight with anyone i just wanted to speak my mind So please dont flame me for doing so thanks!

Re: Dear email forwarders
heres the infamous Bill Gates one
Sent: Friday, September 24, 1999 1:33 PM Subject: Microsoft and AOL merger. I am forwarding this because the person who sent it to me is a good friend and does not send me junk. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet company and in an effort make sure that Internet explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test. When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period. For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check. I thought this was a scam myself, but two weeks after receiving this e-mail and forwarding it on, Microsoft contacted me for my e-mail and within days, I received a check for $24800.00.

Re: Dear email forwarders
Remember this one?
Here's a shocker! BREAST CANCER PREVENTION - not just for women
Men don't forget to tell mom, cousins, etc. Deodorants non-antiperspirants) are very hard to find but there are a few out there.
I just got information from a health seminar that I would like to share. The leading cause of breast cancer is the use of anti-perspirant.
Yes, ANTI-PERSPIRANT. Most of the products out there are an anti-perspirant/deodorant combination so go home and check your labels.
Deodorant is fine, anti-perspirant is not. Here's why:
The human body has a few areas that it uses to purge toxins; behind the knees, behind the ears, groin area, and armpits. The toxins are purged in the form of perspiration.
Anti-perspirant, as the name clearly indicates, prevents you from perspiring, thereby inhibiting the body from purging toxins from below the armpits. These toxins do not just magically disappear. Instead, the body deposits them in the lymph nodes below the arms since it cannot sweat them out.
This causes a high concentration of toxins and leads to cell mutations: a.k.a. CANCER.
Nearly all breast cancer tumors occur in the upper outside quadrant of the breast area. This is precisely where the lymph nodes are located.
Additionally, men are less likely (but not completely exempt) to develop breast cancer prompted by anti-perspirant usage because most of the anti-perspirant product is caught in their hair and is not directly applied to the skin. Women who apply anti-perspirant right after shaving increase the risk further because shaving causes almost imperceptible nicks in the skin which give the chemicals entrance into the body from the armpit area.
PLEASE pass this along to anyone you care about. Breast Cancer is becoming frighteningly common. This awareness may save lives. If you are skeptical about these findings, I urge you to do some research for yourself. You will arrive at the same conclusions, I assure you.
Thank you.

Re: Dear email forwarders
Applebees Gift Hoax January 2002
Now Applebees wants to get in on it. Think about this for a minute, as this mail is only forwarded to 9 of your friends, who is going to mail you a gift certificate? One of your friends? Applebees has no way of knowing who you send this to unless you cc it to them. If you go to the Applebees website listed in the hoax you get the following in a popup window.
Subject: Gift Certificate from Applebees My name is Bill Palmer, founder of Applebees. In an attempt to get our name out to more people in the rural communities where we are not currently located, we are offering a $50 gift certificate to anyone who forwards this email to 9 of their friends. Just send this email to them and you will receive an email back with a confirmation number to claim your gift certificate. Sincerely Bill Palmer Founder of Applebees Visit us at: www.applebees.com Hey guys, DONTDELETE THIS EMAIL It really works, I tried it and got my Gift certificate confirmation number in 3 minutes.

Re: Dear email forwarders
OMG!
did you guys get this one??? i remember this and i felt so sick after reading it thank god its a hoax
Roaches in the Tacos Hoax
Don't eat while you read this. TRUE STORY: HEY! HOW ABOUT TACO BELL? This girl was really in a hurry one day so she just stopped off at a Taco Bell and got a Chicken soft taco and ate it on the way home. That night she noticed her jaw was kind of tight and swollen. The next day it was a little worse so she went to her doctor. He said she just had an allergic reaction to something and gave her some cream to rub on her jaw to help. After a couple of days the swelling had just gotten worse and she could hardly move her jaw. She went back to her doctor to see what was wrong. Her doctor had no idea so he started to run some tests. They scrubbed out the inside of her mouth to get tissue samples and they also took some saliva samples. Well, they found out what was wrong. Apparently her chicken soft taco had a pregnant roach in it, then she ate it-the eggs then some how got into her saliva glands and well, she was incubating them. They had to remove a couple a layers of her inner mouth to get all the eggs out. If they hadn't figured out what was going on, the eggs would have hatched inside the lining of her mouth!!!!!!!!!!
She's suing Taco Bell! Of course.
If you need to find out more about this, it's in the Nov. 19th NY Times. If you still want Taco Bell after this one, you're really brave. PASS THE WORD AND BE VERY CAREFUL!
