Dear size 6 Old Navy Capris,
You have been a good friend to me for over 7 years. Even when I would abandon you for my size 4 clothes, you would always be there waiting loyally in my closet. I bought you on a whim when I was 26 years old, probably because you were on sale. I figured I could always use an extra pair of capris. This was before the thought of babies even entered my shallow little brain. You used to hang so adorably on my hips, and would always be my go to pants on my bloated PMS days. Little did I know how important you would someday be for me.
Thank you for agreeing to squeeze over my post partum body. I see that your little clasp is straining and starting to pull at the seams, but you still hang on firmly like the loyal friend that you are. While all my other pants have given up on me and refuse to budge over my hips, you forgive me for becoming a fat a s s. You were the only pants that were there for me when I had to go to a function 2 weeks post partum. What a beautiful thing to do in my time of need.
I wear you at least 2-3 times a week, making you the most over worked garment in my closet. I pay you with nothing except the hefty bulk of my big, wide post partum butt. That is love. Thank you my friend.
I promise you as soon as I get through this, I will work those other little bit chy clothes overtime and give you a well deserved vacation. But you will always be near and dear to my heart, and provided you don't bust a seam one of these days, which I know you are trying loyally not to do, I may need you again someday after baby #2.
