decaf coffee

I just started drinking decaf coffee last week. I LOVE coffee but had a real aversion to it early on. I'm wondering if the water in it can be counted toward the days water consumption since there isnt' caffeine in it?

Yup, there is some caffeine. I forgot who did a study on this recently, but there was a piece in the news about this. Believe it or not, Starbucks decaf had less caffeine than Dunkin Donuts 21 mg. at Starbucks. I forget how much was in DD, but almost double.

There is caffeine in decaf, so while its a small enough amount that its safe to drink, it still has that "dehydration" element to it. My doctor said I need an additional glass of water for each decaf cup I drink.

I am now drinking decaf as well. I started drinking it again a couple months ago. I have 1 cup a day (sometimes half, depending on my morning). The water counts as half and there is a small amount of caffine in it depending on where you get it from. I do the singles so there is less in them. If you get it from Dunkin Doughnuts or Starbucks than it has more caffine in it.
