I've been holding at 166.3 for about three days if I can believe my new scales!!! Otherwise, my old scales said I was 165. something today!!!! Chat Icon Dumb scales!!! Move downward already!!!! I must be at a plateau, after 5 pounds loss. Mary

750 cal. so far:
Choc.Glucerna 200
Birdseye pasta/veg. 460
Ocean Spray 90
(Pom./blueberry/sparkling
water juice drink)

Finishing the day with: Tuna 90
Non-fat Miracle Whip 40
Bit of lettuce-don't count
2 slices Pepperidge Farm Soft Oatmeal Bread 240
1 orange creamsicle 40

Total so far: 1160 cal.

Let's see how the bread works!!!! Chat Icon

Way too many carbs, I would eliminate the juices and bread and ice cream and add protien instead. I feel like when myself and others I know that did low calorie diet such as WW, the weight loss will slow or stall when not enough protien is eaten, OR eventually these types of empty calories will cause hunger and some people pig out then.

Good luck with everything!!!

Re: Hey y'all, been dieting about a week now.

I was also going to say a bit too much carbs (least for my liking).

I have a diet plan that goes like this:

Breakfast:

8oz coffee or tea w/skim milk (you can have 2 packs of Splenda if you need it to sweeten it)
1 Kashi TLC granloa bar or
4 egg whites or
1 (2 cups) bowl of Kashi Cereal (w/skim milk) or
2 bananas

Lunch:

4oz of meat (any kind)
Green tossed salad
Basalmic vinigrette dressing, or light italian or lemon/lime

Dinner:

7-8oz of meat (any kind)
2 servings of vegetables
1 serving of starch

And if I'm still hungry I can still have a small side green salad but usually dinner fills me up.

Once in a while (once or twice every other week) I have a small dessert- but a small serving. I usually only have dessert if we go out to eat.

Also I drink about a gallon of water per day. Other than that I might treat myself to a diet soda if we go out to eat but I still drink that gallon a day no matter what.

Also I drink seltzer water if I don't want the water taste and need the fizz to it. I add in a slice of lemon or lime to give it a bit of taste.

I've been following this for over a year now and lost almost 75lbs total.

Also with the THINNER scales they measure by the .5lb...it can be a pain (I have the same scale!)

I'm so glad that you're losing Mary!

Re: Hey y'all, been dieting about a week now.

Thanks Chat Icon I hit a few plateaus along the way but I keep going..goal is to lose about 30 more pounds.

Also forgot to mention that sometimes (depending how I feel) I eliminate the starch at dinnertime.

Re: Hey y'all, been dieting about a week now.

I haven't been able to get back onto this thread, but I just wanted to add:

IMO, 1200 calories is not enough for someone who is 165 lbs. If you are not eating enough, you will not lose weight because you will be starving.

I have dieted like you have before and you get used to eating so few calories in the beginning, but it never sticks. Eventually your body will give you cravings and you will eat it all back plus some.

I also think that the foods you are choosing (based on that menu) are a lot of empty calories and too much sugar. They don't consist of real food which is the main problem.

Going all day and only eating a small can of sugar filled canned fruit is not healthy for anyone. I would have eaten a real pear instead.

The change for any of us trying to eat better has to be for life. Nobody can sustain this way of eating for the long term.

I would just stick to fresh fruits and veggies, lean protien, no bread, sweets only on the rare occasion (have some sugar free jello/ice pops if you need dessert) no rice, no pasta, no bread for now.

Once you change these things, the lbs ill drop I swear.

Danielle, what kind of Kashi cereal do you eat?

Oh gosh I know it's one of the crunchy ones..they're all mostly the same calorie content though from what I remember offhand.
