Re: Name comparison
I don't think people are trying to be nasty to you or anything, but it does seem like overkill only because NO ONE here can make the choice for you.
All the research won't make much of a difference with others if you and your DH TOGETHER do not agree. So posting thread after thread about the same subject over and over is just not helping you at all.

Name comparison
Why are you so opposed about waiting until she is born to decide on a name???? I don't really understand this obsession with choosing a name before hand, especially if it is stressing you out this much!

Re: Name comparison
A name is something you and DH need to decide on. No one else! Suggestions are a very helpful thing, but, asking over and over again just gets annoying.
All that matters is what you and DH like. Wait til she's born, look at her and say "Awww she looks like a ..." and go from there if you really are that unsure.
Stop stressing. Your not only hurting yourself, but, can't be good for baby either.

I don't want to be nasty or hurt your feelings. I have seen it happen way too much on this site and I don't want to be part of it. BUT its just that its overkill. You are asking the same question over and over and over and the reality is, its up to you and DH what you name your daughter. Who cares what strangers on the internet think. Just either pick a name or wait until she is born. This is not a life or death decision and as much as people like to give their opinions after the 5th time it becomes quite annoying. Good luck
What I was going to say word for word. Get a grip woman.
And that's coming from me- me and DH couldn't decide on a name for DS till he was nine days old! So I do have sympathy for you, but enough is enough.

Please, stop obsessing over this. All of the names are beautiful and classic, and no name is going to determine your daughter's lifepath. Just wait and take a look at her when she is born, and you and your DH can choose the one that fits best.

Rebecca Elizabeth Isabella Olivia
Anyone have positives and negatives for each?
I didn't open your other threads, so I'll answer with my thoughts. I personally would not choose Isabella or Olivia bc I feel like that's the name of every girl in my son's nursery. I think they're pretty names, but seem overused lately. Also though, IMO, Isabella isn't Twilight- Bella is (is that what you'll call her?).
I like Rebecca but would not like Becky. I do know a Rebecca though that is called Becca.
Elizabeth is also nice. A lot of syllables. Do you have a long last name? My ds2 has four syllables and it's a mouthful.
I understand the frustration. With ds1 we picked a name by like 20 weeks and had no doubts. With ds2 we were between two names up until like 36 weeks. Even after we named him I had this feeling like we chose the wrong one- but really that was my own head trip and not true. Now I couldn't imagine him with the other name (that btw someone told us was " f-ing horrible" lol) which brings me to my last point that no one's opinion matters- even though I graced u with mine, you should probably disregard it!

I personally like Rebecca and Elizabeth -
I don't like Becca and I don't like Beth
I LOATHE the name Isabella - even before it became oh so popular - But you love it - so who cares what I think?
and I love Olivia, but now it makes me think of a pig .......
It doesn't matter what ANYONE else thinks - it's your kid. ANYONE else's opinion is irrelevant ! -

Re: Name comparison
No one is being nasty at all actually. I was surprised no one said anything to you two posts ago, and yet people patiently answered you every time you asked. I'm just wondering what you're hoping to get out of a 5th post about the same names.
Personally, since you're asking, I refused to consider the name Isabella as a girl name. It is way too popular and trendy right now, even if it is a classic name to begin with. But this is my opinion.
I do like the name Elizabeth, and it was one of our top choices, although we didn't end up using it.

Please there are people who argue with spouses for months over this ... DH and I have only broached it for a month and a half ... have had a lot going on in the family and was primarily concerned with the health of the child. If it drives you crazy then don't respond. I will try and have this taken down. Lord .. I don't know how many have seen this. Yes, true you guys are strangers .... I did not even know what Twilight was until I came onto this board! Even the association of that with the name is absurd!
Maybe i'm taking this the wrong way, but I made that association because I was under the impression you were looking for what people thought of your name decisions. That was MY take on it. Twilight is VERY freaking popular here and so with the dd suggestion and your ds's name that was what I thought of. No everybody won't make that comparison, and yes maybe that is absurd, but you asked for opinions and I gave them to you. At this point you mine as well wait to name her or go with a name no one is sure to have in her classroom.....Undecided

Rebecca Elizabeth Isabella Olivia
Anyone have positives and negatives for each?
Let's talk about your name. How come your user name says Ann but the name field says Chris?
Is this really a rougue DH named Chris trying to drive us batty with the same name choices over and over?
Isabella. That's the name. When you post a picture of your DD, I will say, "aw, Isabella is so cute!"
No ... that is a nickname and was a name that already has been used on this board. You don't have to be nasty. There are people posting questions about things they should really be asking their pediatricians about!
I believe I already answered this question since I believe the exact question was already asked but, I will say it again - I like Isabella best but, I like for your family Rebecca since your son's name was Robert I believe? I like that - Rebecca and Robert.
Now - I can't believe your post - You are judging people saying they are putting posts they should ask their doctors about? What about you - lets put this in perspective - you are repeatedly asking a bunch of STRANGERS on a random internet chat board to pick the name of your child! Shouldn't your child's name mean something to you? Why do you care what a bunch of strangers would name their kid? Seriously, I would look in the mirror before you judge. Just my two cents

I seriously wouldn't stress it so much! For my entire pregnancy, our boy name was Noah. We were team , but were 100% that if it was a boy, it was Noah. Well, 14 months later we love our little Jameson to pieces. The minute I laid eyes on him I knew he was not a Noah. You will figure it out.

Re: Name comparison
my feeling is this
WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS THINK OR HOW OTHERS WILL ASSOCIATE? if you love a name, chose it and stick with it. there will always be someone who doesn't like the name you chose because he went to school with someone named "olivia" and she threw up on his sneakers in the 3rd grade. Who cares. If you like it, pick it and stick it

Re: Name comparison
i hadn't seen any of your previous posts - i really love the names isabella and olivia. i wouldn't say i absolutely love elizabeth and rebecca, but they are nice names. i think my problem with them are the nicknames. we always took the nicknames into consideration b/c i knew no matter how much i insisted, that people were going to call him/her by it. but if you like the nicknames then it's a non-issue.
and i'm sorry girls but honestly, i don't understand why everyone is getting so annoyed here. maybe if i'd read all the other threads i'd be annoyed...but then i wouldn't keep reading them or responding!! the poster's screen name and the title "name comparison" came up on the board...if you're annoyed that she keeps asking, don't open. JMO, and please don't hate on me for saying so.

The frustration is that she has posted this same thing like 4 times in the past 5 days or so, and people were trying to help her and give her advice. When someone would say why they liked or disliked a name it was never enough. She would make a remark about something and then make a new post about her 4 name choices again I'm all for being undecided, but people are trying to help and it's not enough.
