VENTING... about the rude people
What makes you think she was being rude? I could see if she made a snide comment. But, maybe she was admiring the fact that he was walking with his dad with braces on his legs. Maybe she has a relative in the same boat, and was trying to check out what he had? I dunno, I just don't think this is rude at all based on what you wrote. Sorry.
