Delivering at Huntington Hospital - Having sono (Ulltrascren at Good Sam)
I'm doing this bc Good sam is a little closer to me. My dr. says it's okay. I could change my mind and go to Huntington's maternal fetal unit for the Ultra screen. Should I? For anyone that has had experience with the two, which was a better experience? or was it the same?

I have no experience to share from Good Sam - but have done all of my testing at Huntington. I really like their staff and equipment.
Just thought I'd share my HH thumbs-up!

Just thought I'd share my HH thumbs-up! Thanks oh and I JUST remembered why Mr Dr. said to just keep the appt at GS. At this point It may take awhile to get an appt at HH. I will be 12 weeks next week. I guess I will stick with GS being that my appt with them is literally when I will be 12 weeks. Then go to HH for anything else as well as to deliver. Thanks for your input!

Is your appointment with Maternal Fetal Medicine at Good Sam? If so, make sure it's first thing in the morning. They're my high risk practice and if you go later in the day you can expect to be there for a good 3 hours. Dr. El Kady is a great doctor! And their equipment is great as well. We love every sono picture we get from them.
One thing I will say is when I ended up in L&D at 17 weeks the hospital was able to access all of my records from MFM because they're in the hospital. So that is one benefit to seeing the MFM department at the hospital you're delivering at.

I know I heard this about the appt how it's a very long wait. They only had afternoon hours for me when I was scheduling - but you know what, I am going to call them in the am and see if there was a cancellation or slot they can switch me to in the am
They will be sending the report and any information to my Dr. at NS med Group. I hope... I do hear great things about Dina El Katy as well. Do you know if they can do a 3 d sono as well? Upon request? I hear that it's not covered my insurance though...is this true?

Yeah - it hasn't been an issue for me as everything I do is via HH - but on the one occasion where I wanted to change the time of my appt - they couldn't. They're a pretty busy operation.
Good luck!!

They do 3D sonos, but I don't think they'll do one for a 12 week appointment. I asked for it at the 20 week appointment and she showed us the face, but it was still a little weird at that point so she didn't print pictures for us. At 24 weeks it was better and we got pictures. I go tomorrow morning and am hoping to get more 3D pics. As far as I know they're covered by insurance because they're part of the sono. I think if you go to a place that does just 3Ds they might not be covered. Good luck!
