delivery gift? anyone here of this?
So DH comes home and asks if on my message boards if i have ever heard of a delivery gift. I said i havent heard of it my self and he says a friend of his asked what he was getting me. Now DH is very confused because he already has my VDAY gift (which is more than enough in my eyes) now wants to know what is considered a delivery gift. I told him not to worry about it. Any one heard of this.

he meant a "push present". Some DHs get their wife a push present for the birth of their child. I personally think it's unnecessary, but DH wanted to get something for me, I am really itching for another LV bag, but ever since I got pregnant, I just can't justify it anymore.
I might get a necklace with DD's initial on the pendent

Def do a search for "Push Present" on here. There have been several threads (not all of them pretty).
DH & I do give each other gifts. I think it is nice to have something to commemmorate such a huge event.

I told DH that I didn't want a push present and that I'd rather save the money. He did end up buying me a cute little photo frame though that said "I Love My Mommy."

I've never heard of this. I don't think I'll be in the mood to receive gifts when I'm in delivery.
DH expects me to go on a shopping spree as soon as the baby is born though. I can't wait to buy some pretty summer dresses and some new shoes! I am sick of dressing in all these hideous frumpy clothes from GAP and Destination Maternity.

I have one of those mommy necklaces with the charms of the little person with the birthstone. DH will be getting me the charm for  when he arrives. I don't think it's necessary for him to get me anything big. I just want my necklace to be up to date

"push gift" - your reward for carrying the baby and giving birth...
some girls on here also get a gift for their dh if they have been exceptional durring the pregnancy helping out...
My sisters doctor even reminded her dh at a doctors appt about that...
I didnt think id be getting one, but just last week dh asked me what i wanted....(and after the extreme congestion, exhaustion ive been experiencing ive justified one to myself)
I'm due a week after mothers day, I told him when the mother's day flyers come out i'll circle some of the pendants I like(either one that has the word mom, and gemstones in it, or a heart shaped one with the mom on one side with the baby on the other facing her)here

My family has never done "push presents" but more so a first Mother's Day gift like a baby charm necklace or "Mommy" nameplate or bracelet.

I never mentioned it to my husband because I didn't want to look like I was searching for gifts....but all on his own, he bought me a pair of earrings with Lily's birthstone.
I think it's sweet to remember such an amazing thing with a gift!

That will be my gift as well. Neither one of us have ever heard of this until I joined this board. IMP I would rather use the money toward the babies. My dh always surprises me so I am sure he will give me something. I am just not expecting anything!!

Never heard of this although my husband did say to me the other day, "I found the perfect card for you." I guess this is kind of what he meant and I assume I should go to Hallmark soon and pick one up for him as well!
