Dell issue
What would you do? I just recently bought a laptop from Dell in the beginning of January. Well - since the beg. of this month my computer screen has been completly fuzzy and the only way it works is if I hold the top left corner of the screen.
So - of course I call up Dell and it turns out that I only had a 3 month warantee. In order to fix this problem the part will be over $200. I have been on the phone with Dell for days screaming because I think that it is completlely unacceptable for a laptop's screen to break within 5 months of having it. I was demanding that they pick up the cost....they could care less about my kicking and screaming and are refusing to do anything.
I bring it to a computer store and they said that for them to get the part in and fix it would be over $300. I am at a loss. I need the computer fixed for work - I obviously will not be very productive typing with my right hand and holding the screen with my left.
Would you call up Dell AGAIN and try ONE more time - or would you just give in and pay to get it fixed? If I pay to get it fixed I would go through the computer place bc I can't bare the throught of giving Dell another penny.

Re: Dell issue
I hate Dell Customer Service!!! I bought a laptop two years ago from them and 4 months later the bulb went out on my screen, and it was a NIGHTMARE!!
I yelled and screamed for days, demanded to only speak with a supervisor, then demanded speaking to that person's supervisor. In the end, I got what I needed from them, AS WELL AS $100 certificate for future dell purchases.
I say continue on... don't let them off the hook.

Re: Dell issue
Nightmare is the perfect word to describe dealing with them. I have been transferred to so many departments and NONE of them apparently handle what I need. I hate when I lose my patience and act like a crazy person to people who are just doing their jobs - but they have pushed me over the edge the last couple of days.
I have demanded to speak to a supervisor and you know what happens???? THEY DISCONNECT ME so that I have to start all over again.
I will try again in the morning you're right. I am not giving up just yet!

Re: Dell issue
Just KEEP asking ofr supervisors. DON'T give up yet. When you don't get the answer you want, ask for a supervisor, try for a few minutes and again, if you don't hear what you want, ask for a supervisor. Best of luck to you!

I'm a real b!tch (or should I say, more than usual ) when it comes to things like this but I would DEF keep calling and writing. Make sure you document who you spoke to as well.
Good luck!

Re: Dell issue
Dell is the worst to deal with, I have had nothing but bad experiences with them. I finally had to scream and scream and threaten to takee them to court but lo and behold they eventually fixed my problem

Re: Dell issue
Keep trying and ask speak to a supervisor. Also, ask them to put everything in writing for you. You can also send them a letter and tell them you are going to report to BBB. Sometimes that get them to listen at least and maybe they can do something about it. Ask them to send you a copy of the warrantee detailing the parts that are covered and the time of length of coverage. Good Luck !!!
