Demanding 5 mo old please help

My dd is almost 5 mos and her latest thing is when she gets tired and I try to get her to sleep she screams until she falls asleep. I rock her but she will often only stop if I am standing and its getting crazy. Does anyone have experience with this? What do I do??

jannette i am sorry, that sounds awful! Chat Icon

i don't have any advice, DS has sleeping issues of his own... the only thing we have found works for him is to make sure he is full and VERY tired when we put him down for the night. Chat Icon

Re: Demanding 5 mo old please help

nap times are just as you described, plus he only naps for half an hour its so aweful. driving around helps him nap i found. bed time is starting to get a little similar too, although we dont have to pick him up it takes him a long time to fall asleep, yesterday we gave him a bottle before bed and he fell asleep at the bottle so technically we held him and then tranfered to crib, we tried cio 3 times and it was not for us.... how about putting him in stroller in the house?.

Re: Demanding 5 mo old please help

Jannette, did you try just letting her cry for a little bit? When we started B in the crib, if he cries, we would go in there, show him we were still there, put his pacifier in, then leave. Even if it took 7 times.

If he is REALLY upset, we pick him up, calm him down, and put him back down. He seemed to learn pretty quickly that we weren't going to pick him up all the time.

Do you have a sound machine in her crib for her to listen to music or something?
