Dental Coverage the first year
I didn't get my DD's dental coverage for next year, didn't really think it was necessary (it's probably not too late to do it though) - is that ok? What did everyone do about that?

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
Our dentist said that we wouldn't have to come see him till ds was 2, but I see what you mean about if they fell and chipped a tooth or something..hmmm I am curious to see what other people post.

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
I just too Jake to his 2 year check up and our Dr. said to see the dentist between 2-3 years old, but more towards 3. We don't have dental on Jake right now, but we are re newing our policy in January and I think that now he is a climber and much more active we are going to add him on.

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
I just put Andrew on our dental plan (not insurance, but a discounted dental plan) and we plan on taking him for the first time in the spring. Our dentist said they will see the kids when they have all 20 of their teeth and will actually sit for the dentist. We had no reason before this to take him to a pedi dentist, so we will wait to spring to take him when he will be 3.

Some ped dentists dont even take insurance so it may not be worth it for you anyway. You should check to see if yours does, if it costs money to add children to the policy.
I took Emma at 4 and she was an angel. I took Jeremy at 18 months and it was a screaming fit. He has issues with his teeth though.

i didn't really think it was necessary, but it wasn't that much more money to add brendan to our plan so we figured it wouldn't hurt to add him just incase. he does have a lot of teeth!

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
We just added Caiden on my dental insurance. My insurance won't cover a child unless they're at least 2 yrs old.

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
I just added Michael to my dental this year and he'll be two in December. I plan on taking him to the dentist within the next few months.

Re: Dental Coverage the first year
Hayley was added on when she was born, we don't have to pay for DH's benefits so to us it didn't matter if we did it at birth or when she was 2.

It didn't cost xtra to put Maddie on so we did even though she won't be going to a dentist for awhile.
