Dentist Appt. Tomorrow
I hate the dentist! I Know I have to go. I have a wisdom tooth bothering me, so, Im even asking for a referral so I can just get it pulled.
My question is..
Do they sometimes just use novacaine to pull a wisdom tooth or do they put you "out"?
I had an impacted tooth a few years ago and I was "out" for it. The one that is bothering me now is all the way out. Im kind of hoping they can just use novacaine.
It won't be done tomorrow, but, I want to be prepared.

I've had novacine for a wisdom tooth, and it honestly was not to bad. I know what you mean I hate the dentist and I'm terrified of being put out. Good luck.

Dont worry you will be fine
for the past year I have had so many probs with root canals and wisdom teeth and I hate the dentist
I just had 2 wisdom teeth pulled a few wks ago, I was put out and it was fine during recovery
if you need a great oral surgeon I have a few in the Huntington area

I had all of mine taken out with just novocaine. If they aren't impacted it should take less than 5 mins per tooth. Not bad at all...Bottoms are worse than top in terms of healing...A few days of pain/soft foods and you'll be fine! They give painkillers too--the last one I had done I didn't even take the prescription. I recommend Suffolk Oral Surgery Associates. I've seen a few of the surgeons and they were all excellent.

I had one out with just novacaine and it was great.
I much prefer that to drugs.
You don't feel any pain at all- just pressure and tugging.
If I had to do it again I would definitely just go with the novacaine.
You can drive right afterwards and you aren't all woozy.
ETA- I have a great oral surgeon in Suffolk county if you need one.

It really depends on you - it can be done with only local - but sometimes it is more pleasant to be sedated -
If you need a referral I know some amazing oral surgeons - depending on where you are -
let me know if you need one...

Thank You so much. I see the dentist tomorrow and he usually recommends good oral surgeons. When I get back tomorrow night, I'll ask you all about the dr.s he recommends.
