Is anyone going to follow the trial? I saw they seated a 3rd juror.

Yes.
I really hope that disgrace of a human being and cop ends up in jail for a long time for his actions.

I hope to catch parts of it. He was the straw that broke the camel's back. He outright MURDERED someone in broad daylight and used his badge as his defense. Scum and I hope he goes away for a loooong time.

Re: Derek Chauvin case
I won't be following the trial, but I'll be following the verdicts. With the video evidence, and his history of violence, I can't see how he could possible not get convicted and serve for a long time.

Re: Derek Chauvin case
How on earth will they find an impartial jury?? Are there actually people that don't have a strong opinion about this case?

I could look at it objectively to be honest.

I feel that’s the hardest task for a juror. To examine the case objectively and give a true impartial decision WITHOUT allowing emotions, feelings, beliefs, influence that decision, even more so for a case like this.

Derek Chauvin case
The first autopsy done said he had CoVid and had Fentanyl in his system and his death wasn’t caused by the cop who kneeled on his neck for 9 minutes.
The second independent autopsy said differently.
I’ve read social media posts by cops who say that Chauvin won’t be charged because of the initial autopsy findings.
I have zero faith at this point in the system for justice to be served. If/when it isn’t, it will be mayhem on the streets.

Me either and I’m proud of that. There’s zero room for me to contemplate a single thing after watching a man be murdered by a cop as he gasped for air and begged for his life.

None of this surprises me. I will actually be more surprised if they convict him versus them not.
It’s so rare any cop is held responsible whether they should be or shouldn’t be.
I said it when this first happened people think it’s bad with protests now wait till he’s not convicted. Shittt will really be hitting the fan then!

Agreed. Then the cycle starts all over again.

Re: Derek Chauvin case
I actually thought the prosecutions closing argument was terrible. The whole state of Minnesota and that's the best they could do? That guy was terrible. I didn't watch the rest of the trial but I hope he did better than he did today.

I agree with you lululu. He didn’t do any better today in my opinion.
Hung jury .. I hope not but I wouldn’t be surprised. I view this verdict to be one of the most important and defining of our lifetimes.

I think they might be hung on the murder charge but they will get manslaughter. I can't imagine with all the press surrounding this case that any jury could truly be impartial though. Jurors know what's at stake here and they will convict on something.

Maybe. But jurors let Casey Anthony off the hook so who knows.

Yes but the Casey Anthony case only affected Casey Anthony. There were not going to be protests or civil unrest by finding her innocent. There's much more at stake here.

Jury should be making their decision based on the info presented during trial, not on the likelihood of protests , etc.

Yes they absolutely should but I don't see how you can be completely impartial in a trial like this no matter how hard you try. Frankly I would also fear for my safety if I was a juror finding him innocent. But, with the video it would be very difficult for someone to say that he was following police protocol and he was not responsible at all. At the very least there were mitigating factors that he was unaware of but he had plenty of time to get off Floyd's neck. At most it was completely his fault and he committed murder.

Really hoping he's found guilty of murder.
