Designer Paint Brushes?
DH and I went to get some painting stuff at Home Depot and were floored when we saw that Ralph Lauren now has a line of painting supplies. Is there a calling for this?

I can just visualize a paint roller on a catwalk.

Re: Designer Paint Brushes?
My DH used to work for Sherwin Williams, and at least at that time, they marketed the Ralph Lauren supplies. He honestly believes that the Ralph Lauren paint and supplies are better quality. We did just use a Ralph Lauren paint with one of Ralph Lauren's faux finishes, called Candlelight. Candlelight is a very interesting concept but I won't bore you with it.
My DH knows so much about paint that he was even able to explain to me how my nail polish dries. Yes, this is such an interesting household.
Somehow, this is the same guy who accidentally washed the car with wallpaper remover. He did, however, know how to save the paint job from damage!

Some of them are for faux finishes, though. I'll see if I can get more info. Were they a lot more money? Maybe people use them and then proudly display their designer brushes.

Maybe they get the bristles from the hair of purebred horses. I dunno.

Re: Designer Paint Brushes?
This just in: The DH says that the Ralph Lauren brushes and rollers are good quality but a waste of money. He said that the only time you need Ralph Lauren brushes or rollers is to replicate one of their faux finishes. Some of those finishes are only available as Ralph Lauren styles. For regular painting, no need for the Ralph Lauren brushes.
The DH has spoken.

Re: Designer Paint Brushes?
I don't know about a designer brush, but my mom's a faux finisher and she just did our bedroom and I was shocked when she said she was using a $60 brush and a rowel.... apparently for certain finishes you can't just use a generic tool.... but for straight painting, that's ridiculous - a roller is a roller... lol
