Destroying documents with personal information...
I don't have a shredder, can't burn them, don't want to throw them in the receycle bin since it has credit card info, social security info, student loan documents....what can I do with them? I have them torn to pieces upstairs in a bag and no idea how to dispose of them properly without getting my stuff stolen...

I would just invest in a shredder but in the meantime you could soak them in a bucket of water to wash off the ink.

someone posted resently that you can take them to Staples or office Max and they will distroy them
Honestly, you can get a shredder for like $25...best investment we made,

KINKO'S , staples, may shred it for you. but you're better off just buying one to keep. we go through our stuff every so often, make a pile, and DH sits there and shreds it.

Cross cut shredder. It really is a great investment. I keep mine under my kitchen counter, close to my garbage, so that anything that might get tossed with personal info, goes in a pile for the shredder instead. You can get a great one for around $50.

Rip or tear all of your documents up and throw the shreds into different bags, and then throw out the bags at different times so if someone does get some of your documents, hopefully they won't be able to piece together your information. I would eventually get a shredder though.
