dh and i wanted to warn ya's
we used a real estate Weichert and ever since we bought our house we been having problems which must of you know about! now we get our first statement for our mortage which is due in aug and we saw that they took money out of escrow on us which they were NOT allowed too due to the damages in our basement! never use their mortage guy get one from the outside and dont use their lawyer either because he does not do anything he seems like he is not helping us and believe me he will get sued if we dont get our money back. just wanted to share & vent thanks!

well i have to say...i agree
i think it is never a smart move to use the lawyers and mortgage co that your real estate agent recommends
And i think i would be very pissy with your home inspector if you are having this many issues with your house....
not understanding about what is going on with your Escrow....
But i hope it all works out for you

In addition to separate mortgage broker and lawyer, I also used an outside inspector than the one the RE agent recommended, I felt like they would all be in cahoots with each other!
ETA: Sorry about your experience. I'll keep that in mind @ Weichert

I think it is something for everyone to keep in mind when buying...
Going with a group of people that all linked somehow...IMO isn't a smart move.
They, IMO will be looking out for each other NOT YOU.

I ended up using the realtors Mortgage company because there was stuff going on with DH that he new about and I didnt want to take the chance of going through someone else and not getg a mortgage. Our lawyer too is through them and so far we havent had problems.

So sorry that you are dealing with this. So many crooked people lately - it's really heartbreaking. Definitely stand your ground on this.
I also agree - it's not a wise idea to blindly use an inspector, lawyer or mortgage broker especially when they come recommended by the RE Agent involved. I can't help but believe that there is some under the table kickback involved with that circle of recommendations. Not to say that it happens all the time but I am always weary of it. We smile and say thanks when RE Agents offer but never accept. We have a separate broker, lawyer and inspector that we found through trusted family and friend recommendations.
