DH taking DD to the restroom in public?
If your DH is out with DD alone...does he take her to the men's room to use the potty?
XDH is supposed to have DD tomorrow. But, older DD is sick (she lives with him and his girlfriend). He wants to cancel. I asked him why he doesn't just take DD out for the day to do something. He said he needs to stay close to home in case she has to go to the bathroom I know, that he has no idea how to entertain her for an entire day...which is the real reason he won't take her out somewhere...and that if the GF is home, he actually has to pay attention to her and take care of her, which is the real issue.
But...do other DH's feel this way about using the restroom? I mean, I know mommies take DD's and DS's to the ladies room all the time...but do men take DD's to the men's room?

Re: DH taking DD to the restroom in public?
My DH takes my DD to the bathroom if she has to go. Obviously, he won't take her into a shady one, but if he is at a restaurant or mall, they usually have a family restroom or he'll jsut take her into the mens room and he'll go in a stall with her.
I will add that if we are all out together, he prefers I take her into the women's bathroom..

Re: DH taking DD to the restroom in public?
My DH will take both DDs (2 and 5yr) to the mens room, only if needed and Im not around. At first I thought this was kinda gross, but he assures me there is really nothing to even see in the mens room (regarding thier junk). He takes her into a stall so she has privacy of course.
DH also takes our 2 yr old DD into the mens locker room after the 'mommy and me' swim class (other dads do the same). He would NOT do that with our 5 yr old however becuase there is the whole shower scene and she is older

Re: DH taking DD to the restroom in public?
DD isn't potty trained yet but I know DH would take her if she needed to go. My dad did it with both my sister and I. He even took us into the men's room if my mom was around and the line for the ladies room was too long.

Re: DH taking DD to the restroom in public?
If i'm at work or DH is out with the kids, everyone goes into the bathroom with him. They are only 3 (DD) and 5 (DS) so even if DD is the one who has to go, everyone goes to the men's room. Its no big deal IMO.
I still bring my 5 year old into the ladies room with me.

I feel like family bathrooms are more common- that's what DH does. But when he has to take her into the men's room, he does.
I have a funny story about their most recent trip- DD saw the urinals and she said, "What are those?" and he said, "Those are where men do peepee" and she said, "Oh, they'll hurt themselves!"
