diamond earrings
On my wishlist is 1 carat diamond earrings. Not this year but in the future once we have paid off our debt. Dh mentioned that he has a diamond earring fund for me but is not sure where to get them or what he should expect to spend. We have been looking at different websites and are kind of lost. Anyone have tips or advice. TIA.

Re: diamond earrings
diamonds are all about the c's cut clarity and color. that being said stones that are in earrings are under less scrutiny then stones that are in engagement rings,so you have more leeway. when you say 1 karat earrins do you mean 1/2 karat each or 1 karat each?

I'm thinking 1 carat each. If that is rediculously expensive I'm open to suggestions.

Yes - when you see any description of diamond stud earrings the carat weight listed is for the pair, not per earring

Lol. Thanks. That now makes sense so we were looking at 1 carat in total then.

If you want 1ct each then that is considered 2cts. The 4 C's are super important however with diamond studs you can have less than perfect diamonds bc they're in your ears and not in an obvious place as say a ring or pendant. Last year I got a pair and they're 1.36tcw. They cost $2,500. They're a great size for every day use. Not too small and for fancy events I have bigger fake ones. I went to a local jeweler that I trust and have a relationship with. I also think blue Nile is a great place to start. You can price out some and get an idea of what you want. Also they have a great return policy.

In diamond studs it's all about the cut. You want them to sparkle!

1ct each for diamond studs is really big! I would ask around a find someone in the diamond district - you will get a much better deal than online.

good quality studs aren't cheap. Imagine buying two 1c engagement rings..that said you can get lower quality diamonds for much cheaper. Kohls has them and sometimes offers 50% and another 30% on top of that. They aren't the best quality though....
In the meantime, check out qvc Dimondique line. They are high quality cz. I have a wedding band from there that I use for travel and I honestly get more compliments on that then my real set (which is Tiffany) hahaha.

Re: diamond earrings
I have 2ct studs that I wear everyday. I never asked but I think they were around $4500. Just make sure the backs screw on so they stay safe
