IMO, anyone that has a strap long enough so that when you are out you can hang it over the back of the stroller, across the handles. I would say with a backpack, youll be limited to always carrying it (I could be wrong) but a messenger bag sounds like a better option bc you can hang it across both handles.

i have both and the back pack is annoying because it doesnt really hang as well on the handle of my stroller

messenger. i think mine is really a shoulder bag, but the strap is long enough to make it a messenger bag. i like that everything is right there for me to get.

I very RARELY actually hold my diaper bag-- unless I am running to the Ped office. It is ALWAYS on the back of the stroller. It's more like a handbag in terms of style.
I sometimes use a messenger style if I just have her in the sling and can't carry the whole big bag.

My favorite diaper bag turned out to be this slim style bag that i got on crazy sale at PBK. It was 14.99.
