Did anybody have lingering damage from their epidural or spinal?
I had a horrible reaction to my spinal, days after delivering. It put me back in the hospital less than 48 hours after being released. Ever since, I'm not feeling my legs so well. I thought it would go away, but it hasn't. I had posted about this before, but now that I'm being sent to a neurologist, I'd like to know if this happened to anbody. I've been hearing this could be permanent.

Re: Did anybody have lingering damage from their epidural or spinal?
Wow That's awful! I really hope that it isn't permanent.
I haven't really chimed in about this before, but I've been experiencing lingering pain from my spinal. Many mornings when I wake up, I have the most awful pain in my lower back. And the bottoms of my feet hurt when I first walk on them. The pains are mostly gone by the time that I'm done with my shower. They're also not as bad as they used to be. (It was REALLY awful for a while there.)

WOW, I get the same thing. Whenever I get up out of bed the bottoms of my feet kill me... although my pain started when I was pregnant so I don't think it is from the epi.
Kelly, I am sorry you are having trouble with your legs. I hope the neurologist gives you good news!

Re: Did anybody have lingering damage from their epidural or spinal?
I am so sorry that you are going through all that. I posted before about actually feeling the exact spot that the needle was placed in my back. It is painful at times and if I lean back but mostly it is just a slight discomfort. I am only 5.5 week pp so I am hoping that it goes away soon.
What are your doctors saying? Have you called the anthesiologist (sp?) office and asked them about the issues you are dealing with?

Re: Did anybody have lingering damage from their epidural or spinal?
I'm sorry you're experiencing this too- but I'm also relieved to hear someone else who is experiencing this.
I never had this while I was PG- only after. That's why I thought it might be from the spinal- mostly because I've heard that problems with the lower back translate into problems with the legs, etc... But maybe it's not from the spinal and it's something that's just related to having been PG. Either way it's extremely annoying!

I'm so sorry Kelly. I hope they can give you some relief. Maybe there is a pinched nerve somewhere?

Re: Did anybody have lingering damage from their epidural or spinal?
recently ..yes
the first time I was fine...now after my second I have like a panging bruise like feeling there when I get really tired
I really think the anestesiologist did not know what she was doing this time around. THe first time I got it it was one shot and that was it.
This time she was numbing it for like 10 minutes it hurt like hell!

I'm sorry to hear that others of you are having problems too. I can feel the spot they did it, but it's not painful. I just feel horrible because I have problems actually getting up off the floor and climbing stairs. Walking is weird too. Not what you want when you have an infant.

I have spoken with the doctors. They are trying not to say specifically until I see the neurologist. They basically say it's a risk with the spinal. I got no choice. I was told c-section was my option. Now I'm thinking passing an 11 pound baby through my va-jay-jay would've been better.
Don't get me wrong, even if this is permanent, he is TOTALLY worth it!!!!!!

It happened to an old co-worker of mine-she wound up getting acupuncture and that helped her a lot.
