If you had an epidural or spinal

Do you have discomfort at the site of the needle. I feel like I can feel exactly where the spinal was in between my spine. I actually have a little bit of pain if I lean back but I always have general discomfort in that area. Does anyone else feel this or do you think this is something I need to bring up to my doctor? I am a little nervous about it actually.

It isn't like my whole back hurts. It is literally just where the catheter/needle was in my back. If that even makes sense.

Yep. I can feel it too. I'm 4 months pp. I think it goes away after time, but I have heard it can be felt for life too.

I had aches in my back for 9 months after having DD. If I sat too long or stayed in one position, it would ache. It did go away though.

As much as it stinks that we all have that discomfort, I am happy that I am not alone. Thanks for making me feel better.

I had severe back pain that started about 3 months after I had DD. I brought it up to my doctor, and she said that basically it is very traumatic for your body to go thru labor, and this is why my back was hurting. I did have an epidural, and brought that up to her as well, and she said that while alot of people blame the epidural, it is not the epidural that causes the back pain.

i had pain and discomfort for a while after mine too.. i think it finally subsided just recently actually.. like maybe in the last year or 2.. DD is 4

it wouldnt hurt to bring it up to your dr.. i never did though, but just cuz i was dumb and ignored it.

I still get back pain and even spasms in the upper portion of my back. I dont think it's associated with the epidural but who knows. Overtime, I feel it less and less.

how old is DC? mine only hurt for a couple of weeks (and i had 4 needles between the epidural and the blood tap).

It hurt when I bent over few the first 2 days.

What happened to me - is I hurt my back during pushing because I couldn't feel anything due to the epi. A week after birth they found I had a swollen spine. My back has never been the same. I guess it was indirectly related to the epi, but not really from the epidural itself.

I would definitely mention it - it can't hurt. Feel better

I had pain there for a while after DS2 was born and was really nervous, but my doctor wasn't concerned unless it got worse, and eventually it went away. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Mine did for about a week after all 3 kids were born but now I am fine.

I had an epi and had no pain afterwards at all.
You should mention it to your dr.

I can feel it too. My mom had a spinal 25 years ago with my sister and she said her back has never been the same
