Did Anyone else's Daycare close early?
I got a call at 11am saying they were going to close by 1pm due to the snow. 
Luckily, she slept for most of the afetrnoon and I was able to do work.

yeah noon and I go in on Fri's at 1pm so sick day for me  oh well. still getting used to this world of daycare.

They have a responsibility for their employee's safety as well.
It's not like they were closing early for the heck of it.

i know - this is not going to work if it happens everytime it snows. the roads were not bad today. If anything, hey should have had a delayed opening!

Our daycare told us they can't really close the daycare if all children are not picked up.
DH works in the City and I can have my cell phone when I work.
They usually say they close so most people pick up the kids and they have a reduce personel.

It was all over the news that there would be freezing rain and the roads would be horrible in the early evening. I'm sure that's why they closed early.
Just wait until elementary school. Delayed openings, no school, no aftercare, etc.

I decided to stay home (and was repeatedly told it was a personal day) but I called the daycare just to see...they told me they were closing at noon. Good thing I didn't go because I would have just put DS back in the car and headed back home anyway...otherwise I would have gotten into the city just to turn back around.

mine never even opened!!!
But honestly I was happy. I was nervous driving with DD in the car. It forced me to stay home and work from home. My office actually ended up closing at 2pm so it was a 1/2 day for me

Hopefully there aren't too many more days like this. DH and I take turns...during his busy season I take off and when busy season ends he takes the rest of the time (he has more vacation than I do and they will let him work from home too).

Our daycare closed at 2:30pm. I was more than happy to leave work early and pick her up.
But due to the fact that she didn't get a good nap b/c of the closing, she was a pain to get to bed tonight.

It wasn't that bad. If I have to be at work...so should the daycare employees
A lot on businesses closed early.
I'm just saying I'm sure it wasn't a decision they made lightly.

I agree. The weather was bad, they have to look out for their staff also. I'm sure they looked into it before they decided to close.
