Did anyone give/get Christening gift other than money and jewelry?
We have a christening on Sunday for our friends DS. For DS's Christening they bought him a picture frame and piggy bank from Fortunoff. I would like to buy him a gift instead of money but do you think that is tacky? I was thinking a personalized gift like a hand painted step stool or collage frame from a nice personalized gifts store that is by my house. Or should I just give money?

I just had my DS christening on Sunday and I received clothes in addition to money and jewelry so that should be fine.

I got clothes, a picture frame, and a children's bible, a traditional woven Irish cross to hang in his room . . .
I think both $$ or presents are fine to give.

Gifts are never tacky.
DD got a picture frame, a bible, a precious moments keepsake and a lenox cross for her christening in addition to money and jewelry.

We only received money from my parents, my grandmother and my MIL. Everyone else gave gifts. We got some baby things from tiffany's, fortunoff's and a bloomies gift card (to buy her some fun clothes). I don't think you have to give money at all.
Etd to add I don't thinks gifts are tacky at all.

My girls recieved engraved memory boxes from things remembered, a jewelry box, Precious moments porceline crosses.
I don't think a personalized keepsake is tacky at all. I'd rather that then savings bonds.
