Did anyone have a hard time moving to the big kid car seat ????
not with the baby but with you ??
we just bought and installed our new big boy car seat (we went with the Recaro) and i have to say im finding it really hard to get used too.
first off if he falls asleep he wakes up as soon as i lift him out while the infant seat could just be put right into the stroller and he continued to sleep.
second if me and DH went out to eat at night i would put him in pjs and he would be asleep in the car ride and we would put the seat in the stroller or a booth and eat together while he slept. now what are we going to do 
i even went as far as yesterday reputting the base of the infant seat back in the car even though the big saet was already in just because he needed too nap before Gymboree and i had to run errands first 
all i can say is i have been blessed that he is so petite that at a year he still is totally within the weight lenght range.
how do you ajust to this new change as im finding it pretty hard and i feel really awkward using it

I basically have only really ever known the Marathon - bc Jack was out of the infant carseat by two months.
I missed out on all of those perks - and imagine it has to be a tough transition. You will work it all out!

I'm not BTDT, but my DD will soon need to move on to the convertible and I have all the same concerns!

It was definitely hard when Ryan was in the in-between stage - out of the infant seat, but couldn't sit up totally on his own yet. For us it only lasted a few weeks, and soon we were able to put him in a shopping cart or high chair with no problem. Hang in there!

thanks i know i will eventually just like with the swing we thought we could never live without it and we are still here 
i should be thankful he has gotten so much use out of it and maybe its me but i think he is actually more happy in the infant seat i would have thought he would have been siked to finally face foward

I totally know what you mean! It didn't really have anything to do with sleeping in our case, but just...where am I supposed to put the baby now!
It was really weird at first with  #1, but then when I had to make the switch with #2 I thought it was going to be impossible to juggle two children! I mean, you can't just put the baby down on the ground anymore! I was so worried about this that I took waaaay too long to switch Abby--she should have been out around 5-6 months, but I just switched her last weekend at 8 months!
Anyway, it's just a matter of getting used to it, really. Before long, you won't even remember what the infant carrier was like.
