Did anyone tell their parents as soon as you got the BFP??

I just got a BFP this morning and really really want to tell my mom today.....and DH parents next weekend...has anyone told their parents this soon? I would wait on everyone else though...Just wondering....

i told my mom and dad like a week to two after i got my BFP but thats only b/c i got it really early 8 DPO so i wanted to have blood tests and stuff doen at the doctor

We were visitng my parents upstate when I got my BFP. I knew they wanted to know, so we couldn't leave and not tell them. (We see them 2 times per year.) Within the week we told the rest of our family. It took that long because we waited to see them on Christmas Eve. (We don't live near family at all)

We told them a wek later. But only because we were closing on a new house a week after we found out and we wanted to tell our parents the good news in the house once we owned it officially.
It was so tough to hold it in for a week because we were living in my parent's basement at the time!

we told my parents maybe 3 days later - I wanted to tell them in person and that was the earliest we could do it.

We did...we called DH's mom and sister at the same time about 10 min after our BFP. I figured I need support even it did not go well. Luckily, we've had a blessed pregnancy so far. I think its totally personal preference based on you and how your relationships are.

my husband called his parents right away - so cute, but I wanted to wait for the doctor's confirmation so I called after the doc said its a BFP. I haven't told many others yet b/c i wanna make sure all of the tests come back ok, but most of my close friends know and our immediate families know :)

Yes, we told our family right away. Regardless of the outcome, we wanted them to share our joy.

We told my parents as soon as we found out (we live in the apartment in their house). Then, my mom told everybody. I was very annoyed at first but now I'm over it. I'm 10 weeks 3 days today.

I still haven't told my parents, and I'm 8 weeks!
My reason is because it's probably not going to be good news to them. My mother has told me before that she doesn't think I should have children. Mainly because I have some risk factors, and this is out of concern for me. I also think she isn't crazy about kids, but that's a whole other story.

I was going to call today, but I was so exhausted, nauseous, and gassy, that I just couldn't face her reaction. I'm not sure what my father will think.

I told my sister and my closest friends shortly after the BFP. They were all delighted. The risk factors are there, but frankly, they are not all that serious and they seem to understand this.

Now that I am expecting though, I can begin to understand my mother's concerns about my health.

Thanks everyone!! We are extremely close to our parents and couldnt wait to tell them the news. We told them today and they promised to keep it a secret until we at least get confirmation from the doctor...then we'll tell everyone else.

I told my parents the day that my pregnancy was confirmed by my OBGYN-we waited a few weeks longer before we told DH's parents

I told my mom right away, which was about 3 weeks into the pregnancy, mainly though b/c we were getting married 3 months later

Of course! Your parents will be there and will know everything that happens regardless...and of course you want somebody to run to and share with all the newest developments before you announce to the world

No, we waited several weeks. I was bleeding in the beginning & we did not want our parents to get excited & then heaven forbid something was happening. We told them at about 9 weeks.

I didnt find out that i was pregnant until i was at least 8 weeks and i didnt want to tell anyone until the doc confirmed it. We found out definelty for sure on tuesday and then on thursday i had my parents and his parents over and we gave them cards that said grandma and grandpa...

I lived downstairs from my mom when I was pregnant. I waited until I heard her awake in the morning and ran up there to tell her. I was so excited.
