Did anyone's DC respond to AXID after Zantac didn't work? Also is Axid FDA approved for use by infants?

axid is approved for infants. it has a better taste than zantac. zantac works better for hannah, though. every baby responds differently.

My DS took Axid for 5 months. He was fine on it and it helped.

my son was on Axid for 8 months.. my ped told me its the same as zantac except zantac has a little alcohol in it...so he would rather use axid.. not that zantac is unsafe for infants because we use it in the hospital on preemies all the time. in my opinion the axid doesnt' work as well as the the zantac and i think what worked for my son was enfamil AR with more added rice.

We started on Zantac and it actually made DD worse! We then switched to Axid and it made a world of difference. No problems from the time we started with it until she went off of it at 9 months.

My DD was on Zantac since birth pratically. She had bad reflux. We changed her to Axid and it made her worse and even more uncomfortable.

We switched back to Zantac and she was much better off. Now, at almost 9 months we are weaning her off of it.

Maybe your baby will respond better to Axid, you never know until you try. Every baby is different. You can always switch back though. Good luck!

Both my kids had zantac and I stopped it due to the fact it contained alcohol.
I also could never understand why it would work great then stop, the pedatrician across the street from me told me it builds up in their system and then the dosage has to be re-adjusted.
I gave it to him when it was verrrrrry bad otherwise I just gave them the special formula-I did not like the fact it was always more and more and truthfully--I saw no great big deal.
