did something i never thought i would.. am i a bad mommy?
yesterday we went to Belmont for mothers day and i guess teeh nice fresh air knocked ds out. he slept basically the entire time we were there. i was afraid he wouldnt sleep last night at all. after we wento his aunt where he threw up ALLL OVER the place( i have been having issues with throwing up, gas, reflux wtc) anyway. betwen him sleeping most of the day and his other issues i decided to let him sleep in his carrier. he ate at 830 and slept in his carrier form 9-4. i dont want to start this habit ( heis only 5 weeks old but still) . My mom thinks maybe he is too little for teh crib. he does sleep there but not as soundly as the carrier.any ideas?

Babies who have reflux often like to sleep sitting up. Don't worry about it! My ped was totally okay with it and said it is better that the baby is comfortable then not!

My DS is 7 months old, and loves to have his naps in the carseat...what can ya do? LOL
Not that he won't sleep anywhere else, but just for naps, he seems to do the best here.
Let him sleep where he can sleep.

Do you mean the infant carrier, like the car seat? Oh- DD slept NIGHTS there sometimes. She loved it. When we went away when she was 6 weeks old I brought the basinett, but she wouldn't have any of it. She loved to sleep in her carrier. It made long drives such a treat.

DS had very very very bad reflux...always threw up...he only slept comfortable in his swing...so i let him sleep nights in his swing till 4 months old. after he was in his crib and i bought a wedge for his crib... he was fine.

DS had really bad reflux...all day projectile. My dr suggested to let him sleep in the seat for a few months! He slept on the floor next to my bed for the 1st 2-3 months! It was the only way he would sleep! (Or in the swing)

Re: did something i never thought i would.. am i a bad mommy?
I would let him sleep wherever is most comfortable for him and for your sanity. DS is also 5 weeks and has reflux issues. We try to put him in his PNP at night next to our bed whenever he's comfortable, but eventually he ends up sleeping in a rocker (Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker). During the day, I let him sleep in his Boppy (Cradle in Comfort) which also keeps him upright. He still refluxes, spits up, and vomits occasionally...but it's not as bad as it would have been if I continuously kept him on his back in his PNP.

I'm impressed your five week old slept 9-4. Take the sleep if you can get it!

I agree with above posters...take the sleep where you can get it...
If you want to have DS sleep in crib, you can do what my girlfriend had done with her daughter, and put the seat in the crib...she said it kept her used to being in her own room, but she was more comfortable in the seat..

I found this baby papasan to be a definate must. so much so that I buy it for all the new moms i know. DS slept so well in it, but I had to break him of it by about 3 1/2 mos for fear he wouldn't sleep anywhere else. Image Attachment(s):

My friends baby has really bad gas issues and he sleeps in the bouncer seat. Their ped reccommended it.
