Did The Snow Potential Change Your Menu Plans This Week?
I looove cooking when it's cold.
I was always planning a roast chicken on Saturday this week.. but now I'm gonna stuff it and make buttermilk biscuits to go along side of it.
I'm also planning some baked goodies.. Nutella brownies and maybe some chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies.
And tomorrow for breakfast.. lovely bowls of Cream of Wheat with cream and blueberries.
Lunch is going to be grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup and celery/carrot sticks. I'm hoping we'll be able to get out for some sledding and that will warm us up afterwards!
Anyone else have cold weather cooking planned?

Yes, it did. I was able to get a chicken last night (supermarket shelves were so empty) so a nice pot of soup for us. I have a pork butt in the freezer, so that will be braised. A nice lemon pound cake and chocolate chip cookie bars for DH. The rest of the week is up to what is in my pantry/fridge/freezer since I won't be able to go grocery shopping until next week.

Yes but not in the way I think you meant
I decided not to buy any meats or frozen veggies to freeze this week, and have been purposely using up things that are in my freezer in case of a power outage.

Yes. When the bad weather hits all I want to do is hunker down with comfort food.
Tonight we'll make homemade pizzas. Tomorrow I plan to do something in the crockpot. I've also made a bunch of baked goodies, but I would like to make some more!
I'm feening for some biscuits and gravy, so that may make an appearance on Sunday.

It definitely did! I usually cook healthy on Friday nights - broiled fish, grilled chicken, salad etc. However, the snow makes me crave comfort food!
Tonight's menu is cheesy honey mustard chicken, mashed potatoes and homemade brownies with ice cream for dessert!

Re: Did The Snow Potential Change Your Menu Plans This Week?
Usually I love to cook hearty meals when it snows. But we are having a party here Sunday for my uncle so there is going to be so much food here anyway! Tonight I'm making French Onion Soup but that was already on this weeks menu. I am making a Asian Chicken Soup tomorrow that we love. I do have a Banana Bread in the oven right now and I will also make a Crumb cake tomorrow. But that's it this time!!

Re: Did The Snow Potential Change Your Menu Plans This Week?
I swapped some of my meals around. I was originally going to use my slow cooker tomorrow to make beef rendang, but I have it slow cooking today in case the power is out tomorrow.
I also baked some apple crisp muffins and chocolate cupcakes today.

Tonight is sausage and peppers and onions on rolls. Tomorrow afternoon, I plan on putting in chicken soup in the crockpot- first time trying this in the crockpot , we will have it all weekend. Saturday night will be porterhouse steak, rice pilaf, tossed green salad, and chilled ice wine from our trip to Niagara falls ,Canada last summer. For dessert will be brownies. I got out of work early today, so I am getting all of the household stuff done today- laundry, etc.

I haven't done the menu for the workweek yet but my menu changed since yesterday
I made lentils and we had sausage and lentils over pasta last night
I am planning to make beef bourguignon tonight and also chili for nachos. not sure when we'll eat either but it will be some time this weekend. Luce asked me to make cupcakes so it will be chocolate cupcakes with choco frosting.
