did u invite everyone u invited to ur baby shower to ur christening?
Not sure if the christening is a more "intimate" event?
Who did u invite to each party and how did you decide?

Nope. My mom organized my baby shower and many of her close friends came who I knew growing up. But I didn't invite them to the Baptism.

No-I did a lot less, mostly just family and really close friends (we had about 30 people total).

Yes, we did.
I think showers are generally "supposed" to be the more intimate event.
But a christening can be any size you like so if you want to keep it small go ahead!

No - we are eliminating a lot of my MILs friends and I'm not inviting as many of my friends (I was invited to their showers and not their Christenings).
She was under the impression though until recently that if you are invited to the shower, you are invited to the Christening (until some of her friends didn't invite her to their grandchild's Christenings).

No, Baptisms in our family are more intimate and basically for close family - we did however invite 1 very close family friend. My shower was another story that is for friends and family.

No...my boyfriends mom invited some friends to the shower that we didn't invite to the Christening.

No. We did family and only really, really close friends. Most people do no expect to invited to a christening.

Nope, not at all. The only people we invited to our DD's Christening was family and friends who were close with us and who we knew would be a part of her life on a regular basis. We didn't go crazy inviting out of state family who will never see her. It would've been too many people and too costly for us.
Other than my friends I didn't have any say in the guest list for my shower so there was family there I wouldn't ordinarily invite to anything but because the moms were paying for it there were people they wanted there. We paid for the Christening on our own and we had to draw the line somewhere or we would have had 200 people there which is insane. We ended up with around 60 guests at the Christening and it was perfect.
