Did u lose a lot of hair after having DC?

i feel like a dog - i am shedding so much!! especially in the shower...

it started when DD was about 3 months.

this is normal right??? how long does it last for?

Oh yes. I think at about 6 months pp is when it finally stopped.

A lot is an understatement! I thought I was going to be bald. Hair was all over the place. It stops at around 6-7 months pp.

Yup went from about months 4-6 for me. Once DD was about 6 months it tapered off.

I am not kidding when I say I lost 75% of my hair. I went to my doctor 6 months pp because I thought something was really wrong, aside from just pp hairloss. Turns out my case was an exception because I was also sick and taking really strong antibiotics for a month to fight a kidney infection. It wasn't pretty.

Good thing is my DD just turned a year and its growing all back, very slowly, but its there!

my cousin is a hairstylist and said they were told to instruct pregnant women to continue taking prenatals after pregnancy to avoid hair loss/thinning?

DD is 8 months old and I am still loosing it - it comes out in clumps -thank god I have thick hair - what is with this ??

I lost hair from about 3-6 months but its seems to have slowed now. When it was falling it, it was everywhere. I was constantly picking my hair off of DS and it didn't help that he liked to pull at it.

My DD is 11 months old - and I am still losing it - and I am still taking my prenatal vitamins- so I don't know what the deal is

Yes! I went to my friend who does my hair and got a "momma chop" cuz I couldn't stand the "shedding"! She said "Bryan is 3 months right?..Yes...Totally normal!"

tons and tons - it has finally tapered off - and my babies are 19 months!

Thank god I have really thick hair.

Yes!! It stopped at around 7 mos pp.

i lost so much hair - in fact i noticed it falling out more and more until DD turned one.

Now im pregnant again and I noticed it short of stopped - but that could be because I cut my hair a few inches shorter....

I lost a ton of hair, it was all over everything... Now 13 months PP it has slowed down alot, thank God! I am still taking prenatals (Breast Feeding).

Nope, my hair was always very thick and stayed that way.

Many new moms are surprised to find themselves shedding more hair than usual in the first few months after giving birth, but it's perfectly normal. And there's no need to panic: You won't go bald. In fact, your hair should be back to normal by your baby's first birthday.

Here's what's going on. Normally, about 85 to 95 percent of the hair on your head is growing and the other 5 to 15 percent is in a resting stage. After the resting period, this hair falls out — often while you're brushing or shampooing it — and is replaced by new growth. An average woman sheds about 100 hairs a day.

During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker, more luxuriant tresses.

After you give birth, your estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. Soon you'll have more hair coming out in the shower or on the brush. This unusual shedding will taper off and your hair will be back to its pre-pregnancy thickness about six to 12 months after you give birth.

Paige is 3 1/2 months and all of a sudden im losing my hair. I thought i just got lucky because after giving birth i didnt lose any. Now its coming out a lot.

I did. I think it's starting to slow down. (I'm 5 months pp)

I'm 7 months post partum and I still notice it falling out, but not nearly as bad

During month 4, no joke, we went through 3 bottles of draino.

Oh my yes!!! I have very thick hair and lost soooo much hair. It started at 3 months and its definitely tapering off now (5 1/2 months.) I have noticed that it gets bad again around AF.

I'm still taking prenatals so if that's suppsoed to help, I would be scared to see what would have come out had I not

I lost so much with each child...and with 2 & 3, even though I had been through it before, I was still convinced I'd go bald. A lot has grown back for me finally (baby is almost 1 yr)

I never understood the advice about continuing with prenatals...if that actually works, wont it eventually fall out once you stop taking them???

Yes I did! It stopped around 6 months..it used to be everywhere!!!

But what is also bad is now it is growing back and I have these short short pieces all around my hairline!
