Did You Bring Your Carseat Base on a Plane?
We are bringing DSs infant carseat on a flight with us this Saturday, but we were are trying to decide if we should bring the base as well. He won't have his own seat on the plane, we're holding him on our laps, but we feel more comfortable using LATCH than the seatbelt when we arrive.
What did you do with the carseat?
Thanks!

Re: Did You Bring Your Carseat Base on a Plane?
We just came back from FL and we just used the seat belt to strap the car seat into the seat on the plane (we bought her a seat) and in the rental car. She was fine. We had enough to carry we didn't want to then be carrying the car seat base.

Yes we did. We had a seat for her and attached the base. If we didn't have a seat for her I would have gate checked it or put it in the overhead compartment.

We are flying to Ohio tomorrow and WILL be bringing the base to use in the rental car. We will gate check the base with the stroller. Southwest Airlines will bag and tag the base at the gate and we'll get it at our destination.

Re: Did You Bring Your Carseat Base on a Plane?
Thanks!
It would help if American was clear on whether we can bring the carseat to the gate or not. I worry about it all getting damaged if we have to check it with luggage. I had some woman on the phone yesterday telling me we had to check it at boarding if we hadn't bought a seat for DS, but we could bring a stroller. I told her the stroller would do us no good wihtout the seat because it is a frame--I don't think she knew anything about the equipment. The base was a mystery to her--she had never heard of one. This was all completely different than what I was told when I bought tickets.
I hate American Airlines. Really hate them. Unfortunately, they have so many great priced flights to Orlando.
