I went to my local mall here and there were HUNDREDS of people lined up near the Apple store to get their new phones. Amazing.

Website crashed because of orders and some were even cancelled.
But yes, that would be the easiest thing to do as long as you get it on day 1

My co-worker's wife was not able to order it online on the 15th so she went to Walt Whitman and ordered in the store. So he went this morning and was on line at 6 am. He didn't get out of there until after 12pm.

This is what I am doing for DH.....Waiting. He got a giftcard for $100 to the Apple store from my parent for Father's Day. We are going to wait until everything dies down a bit to go get it.

My coworker saw the line at the Apple store yesterday morning and left. Went back yesterday at 6PM to no line. Said "Hey, do you have any iphones?" and they said "Sure, here you go."
In and out in 10 mins.

I am definately going to get it, but I want to wait a bit for the hype to die down.
I also know that sometimes when phones first launch there can be bugs.

There are some serious signal issues with the new iPhone based on how you hold the phone in your hand.
