Did you have a name picked out for DC before birth, only to feel that he/she didn't "look" like that name at birth?
What did you do?? Go with the name, or pick a new one??

When Ariel was born we had bounced around the name Gabrielle too...then we decided on Ariel. Had I known that she was going to be as dark haired and eyed as she is I would have named her Gabrielle instead...
I love her name..but she looks more like a Gabrielle to me...

The opposite - as soon as I saw Cailen's face, I knew he was a Cailen!

we were deciding between Genevieve and Ainsley. For some reason I only pictured a dark haired, pale skinned little girl as my Genevieve. Then DD is born and the first thing I see is her red hair - she was definitely our Ainsley.

I wasn't 100% on DS but DH wouldn't budge on the name. I was worried he wasn't going to look like a Luka and honestly, I can't picture him as any other name. It might be because we didn't have a backup though.
With DD, we had a list when she was born and when we saw her we went DD. Now this was my first pick and DH wanted Maya. So she is DD Maya, although she does look like a Maya too me to.
I think the reason I started to second guess myself both times was because I had picked so far in advance and I got bored with it. With DS, we had it picked before I was even 3 months and before I found out what I was having. With DD, we had agreed on that name but then I was unsure.

Hasn't happened to me, but I can picture it happening. I could picture having a name picked and then seeing the baby and thinking the name didn't fit and switching.

We had a few options for names and actually only came up with Lily Anne in the delivery room! Once she was born, we looked at her and decided she was a Lily, not Emily, Grace or Olivia.

We went in with 3 names Mya was our top choice going in and she ended up looking like it would fit her so thats her name! Her middle name was picked out long in advance because of family meaning, that would have never changed.

We had names picked out for both a boy and a girl. We wouldn't have changed the names no matter what the baby looked like.

We had a few boy names picked out and some first/middle name combos. We liked one of the names immediately for his first name, but the middle names we planned to pair with it didn't suit him somehow. We went with another first name choice.

YES!! Like 2 days before I had DS we decided to make him a Jr, and I'm glad we did cause he really looks like a Todd!

yes - we had 2 names and Megan was at the top of the list - when I first saw her, she looked more like the other name, in fact I think I called her it a few times. We stuck with Megan though. We were glad we did b/c the nursery had 3 other babies with our 2nd choice name and we keep meeting babies with that name - I won't say what it was b/c I don't want to hurt any feelings. But it was very important to me that her name not be very popular (i'm a jennifer) Now I can't imagine her as any other name!
