did you open an account for the baby before he/she was born?
just had my work shower and got a nice chunk of money, in addition to some stuff off my registry. I want to put it aside for the baby but we didn't open an account for him yet. I don't think you even can because there is no social security # yet, right?
what have you done with monetary baby gifts? I guess I'll just put it in our joint account for now?

we have a savings account that was essentially wiped out when we bought our house last year. I think it has like $150 in it. We will put any money we get in there - I am interested to see if I can convert it to baby's name or "in trust for" once the time comes.

I put any money we got pre-babies in our account and just noted how much it was. After they were born and we got their SS #s we opened accounts for them.
