did you/would you get your BOYS a baby doll?
josh is almost a year and he LOVES babies! he smiles at babies in books, in person, in magazines, etc. so i'm going to get him a baby doll.
i usually couldn't care less about sterotypical boys/girls stuff but i was wondering what everyone else thinks about this.
did your boy ever have a doll?

My nephews never had a "baby doll" but they had that baby elmo that you have to feed a bottle to (they gave it to DD a few weeks ago since they're older now).
On the other side, my DD has a wwe wrestler doll that my friend's sons gave her since she liked playing with theirs so much.
I don't see the harm in getting a boy a doll. What about a boy cabbage patch doll? That way it's not too girly, but it's still a baby.

Both of my sons had dolls. We got one for Robbie while I was pregnant with Noah. He loved it for 10 seconds - and then stripped it and forgot about it.
Noah had a couple of dolls - things he saw and wanted desperately at the moment. Rob wasn't crazy about it - but I never saw the harm. I did get them 'boy' babies (dressed in blue, etc.) to appease my husbands testosterone levels.
Neither of them are really interested in dolls anymore though.

Yes, my son has a doll and he likes to push him around in his doll stroller.
Personally, I don't think boys are scarred by playing with "girls" toys, all toys are good for kids.

DS has a really cute cabbage patch newborn boy named "Porter"  AND a Build a Bear stroller that he pushed it around in. I see nothing wrong with boys and dolls just like I see nothing wrong with girls playing with cars.

Yes my son has baby "Johnny" he looks like a 6month old real baby and he's dressed in Mets pajamas. he sleeps with baby Johnny in his bed and pushes him around in a stroller. I gave it to him when I was pregnant to get him ready for his baby sister's arrival. He still plays with it and I think it's cute. He'll be 3 in July

Christopher doesn't have any dolls (yet) but he plays with Emma's
But we do have a glowworm that we call his "baby" and when we tell him to kiss his baby, he licks the glowworm's face

i would. My DS #1 never wanted one or played with one at anyone's house but I would. My DS #2 plays with my DD's so so far he's happy with that. It's about if the DH's are on board with it more than anything I find. My BIL was freaking out when my nephew wanted a play vacuum when he was small. Silly IMO but those were his issues, not my SIL's.

LOL! My husband was SOOOO unhappy with the Robbie getting a baby doll at first.. but he has since come to realize that it's par for the course.
My sons have also put on lipstick and worn my heels around the house!
ETA: The heels and makeup were seperate occasions. LOL

Definitely! I will let DS have whatever toys interest him. And down the road when we have DC #2 I think it would be great for him to practice holding a baby doll first.
