Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
We are trying to save money and the christening shoes are a lot of money!! I can't see spending that kind of money on shoes she will only wear once and no one will even see them.
Did your DD wear shoes under her gown?

We got her shoes, but they didnt stay on long. She kept kicking them off. I will do again with this baby.. just dont feel like shes all dressed without the shoes for the baptism.

She had them and they were a waste. You could not see them under the dress and she kept kicking them off so we eventually left them off. I would save your money, it wasn't worth it.

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
DD was 6 months old when she was christened and we changed her into a short dress so she wore shoes, but in your case I wouldn't bother.

My Mom bought DD's dress and loved the booties and insisted on buying them. They kept falling off and spent most of the day in the diaper bag. IMO, I would skip them.

I think you can find them for cheap if you look in the right place. IMO they are the finishing touch, even if the gown is long...

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
ugh, there really isn't an option for a boy... their feet are totally exposed....
we obviously guessed at a shoe size, and they were the tiniest bit too small for him on the day of his baptism
he wore them... didn't even fuss... but I felt bad for him, and ripped those bad boys off the second we got home.

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
DD was not walking at the time she was christened, so I never thought to buy her shoes! I think we had socks on under her gown at the church.
I can't remember what she wore later on

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
Yes - but then the shoes would fall off - she was restless and tired and kicked them off so off they went - i figured no one was going to see them away so she didn't wear any for the rest of the day - of course she had stocking on!

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
I got a cute pair of satin shoes for under $10 (not in the same place I bought the dress - they wanted like $30) and they went perfect with her dress (which was long).

Re: Did your DD wear shoes if she had a long christening dress?
It is funny you should ask this question. At first I decided that I was not going to waste money on shoes. I did see this beautiful leather ballet slipper shoes with a silk ribbon tie that were $29.00, but I decided to refrain. Then two days before I decided I needed to have the shoes. We bought them and I put them on her feet when I first dressedher and 5 minutes later one of the shoes fell off and I didn't put them on her for the rest of the day. I hope to put them on her again in the coming months. In my opinion save your money, no one will see her feet.
