Did your water break before going into labor
I feel like I am waiting for my water to break and that will be the sign for me that the baby is coming.
Within the last few weeks though I have heard so many stories from women whose water never broke.

Nope not for me, Doc broke it in the hospital at 2-3 cms dilated.

With my son, my water broke at home. With my daughter the doctor broke my water in the hospital.

With 2 of my kids, my water broke. Luckily both times it was a constant trickle, not a huge gush. With my other child it didn't. I did figure out that I was in labor even without the water breaking but it took awhile for it to click for me.

No, they did it at the hospital after I received my epi and I was between 6-7 centimeters. It is my understanding from what I learned in Lamaze that water breaking is not as common as people think.

everyone told me..."Oh your water wont break...it never breaks" holey moley did my water break...for 18 hrs  It kept trickling and gushing and trickling...it was so yucky!

Mine broke right after I got done putting the crib together. She's such a good girl that she waited until I was done hehe. Mine was a huge gush too, not just a trickle like with my first.

With my first, yes, it broke - all over  (he was breech so there was nothing to "plug" the flow)
With my DD, doc broke it when I was about 8 cm to get things moving faster.

You know my story - I was I think 6 or 7 cm when they had to break mine. Hang in there!!!!

I was induced 6 days after my due date, the Dr. broke my water when I was 3-4cm at 8am. I had an epidural at 11am when I was 5 cm, I was fully dilated by 2:30pm

My dr broke mine at 3 cm because I wasnt really progressing....I was hpoing that mine would break to so I would "know for sure".

I have read that only 25% of women's waters actually break on their own.

The first time yes, followed by contractions.
The second time no. She was born with the amniotic sac in tact.

I agree my water broke and i thought it would be a huge gush of water but it was a slow trickle as if i was peeing my pants,

MIne broke the day after my due date. I was in labor for 24 hours before they started giving me Pitocin IV to get me dilating.
