Different POV: Bristol Palin's Boyfriend... How do you think HE feels now that HIS personal life is being SPLASHED ALL OVER the Media??
Not to mention now he's being told he WILL marry this girl?
I'm not speaking FOR this kid, but I think if *I* were him, I'd be shitting my pants right now.
Bad enough he and his girlfriend were STUPID enough to have unprotected sex now he's being told he WILL marry her?
And for that matter, what do his PARENTS think of about all of this? Do they want their son married to Bristol at 17 years old? Are the on board with this idea or are they being "forced" into it b/c this girls mother is now the GOP VP nominee?
I just wonder what's going through HIS head and his PARENTS heads...

Also, birth control fails... Does anyone actually know for sure they were having unprotected sex? I think everyone is making a lot of assumptions about things we just don't know about one way or the other.

I would hope hes not being forced into anything, because having a child and a marriage is alot for anyone to handle, let alone if its not what you intended or wanted.
I do have to say though that you don't know they had unprotected sex, accidents happen all the time

See my response above. I don't know, I'm posing a hypothetical question. Of course we don't know the real details, I'm just curious to see what other people *think* Bristol's BF is thinking.
Obviously, NO ONE besides her BF knows what he's thinking...
ETA: IMO when Sarah Palin said "they WILL get married" that sounds a little forced to me.

Everyone seems awfully concerned about Bristol. A number of people have already said they feel bad for her. Others feel her mother threw her under the bus.

she's not running the country. Her mother is.
and from what I see, she's showing her daughter..."you play, you pay"
I think it's a great example for the country.
she's too conservative for me to EVER vote for....but that doesn't mean I think anything less of her b/c of a decision her CHILD made.

When I last spoke to him, he was thinking "*#()?'!! I got my girlfriend pregnant. Then he was thinking my parents are going to kill me.
Now he's thinking "Sweet. She was only the governor's daughter when we had sex. Now I can have sex in the Lincoln bedroom."
I am sure they consulted him on their plans to announce the intended marriage. If not there are going to be some huge MIL issues.

if she is 5 months along, chances are the decision was made prior to this point.
my mom got preggo with ME at 17. my grandparents found out about 6 weeks before I was born (I was a preemie..it was right around the 5 month mark and she started showing)
she had already decided NOT to have an abortion (my grandparents actually wanted her to) and she kept it from them just in case they'd try to convince her otherwise.

i think tons of people assume that it's always a bad thing when a girl/young woman gets pregnant and is "forced" to marry the child's father, or decides to do so on her own, because the assumption is that they are doing it for all the wrong reasons.
i personally know of two instances where the woman got pregnant (mom was 20 in one case and 16 in another) and she married the father. for the 20-yr-old, 30 years later, they are still very happily married. the 16-year-old is now 30 and has been married for about 12-14 years - again, very very happily married.
i actually don't know of ANY situations where a young woman got pregnant and married and the marriage didn't work out, but i may have led a very sheltered life
so my answer to the OPs question - he knew what he was getting into when he started having sex witht he governor's daughter. he was going to get publicity no matter what, especially now that she is pregnant. i feel the way i do about all celebs - you don't want the attention, fine, but you chose this life.
if he thinks it's a good idea now i believe the marriage has a better chance at working out than if he feels he is being forced into the marriage. i hope, for everyone's sake, that he is totally on board with this.

I don't know why... I just don't really care. he knew Bristol was the daughter of the Governor. that is very high level even if she weren't McCain's running mate now.

they ended up getting divorced after my sister was born, my mom was about 20 or 21 at the time.
it was definitely WRONG for them to get married b/c quite honestly, they weren't together that long when it happened and my bio father was (and by all accounts still is) an irresponsible selfish arsehole.
however....without him, I would be missing out on his ENTIRE family...who are wonderful people and I love them TREMENDOUSLY.
especially with a teen pregnancy, it's so much more than just the couple. in that instance, it really takes a village (made up of the family) to raise a child.
if BOTH sets of grandparents are willing to fight the good fight and help these two kids out...there is no telling where or how far they can go.
i wish them the best and hope the child is ALWAYS loved and never looked at like a mistake.
