Dining Room table/chairs - help & ideas needed!
We may be switching back to our old dining room set (long story short, my sister may be taking my mom's set which we currently have in our DR). When we originally bought our set a few years ago, we had a much smaller house and smallerdining room. Therefore we didn't buy the 2 extra chairs to use with the leaf, since we would never be able to use the leaf in that house. Now that we moved and have the bigger DR, we would want to leave the leaf in the table permanently. We will need 2 more chairs. The set was purchased from Fortunoff (now out of business), so we can't just go and buy the matching chairs. So this is where I need help. Can anyone help me find these chairs? Maybe there was another manufacturer and Fortunoff was the distributor, so I could find them somehow?
I have the receipt with all numbers. Purchased in 2006 from Fortunoff. Style/Vendor Name: 460-240. Sku: 21156. Color: 698. Description: Espresso PSADNA SIDE CHAIR.
(I will give $50 to anyone who can find these exact chairs in stock!!)
Here is a picture:
If I can't find the chairs, I have a few options... what would you do? 1) Buy 6 new side chairs (keep the existing armchairs). We would be able to reuse the 4 old side chairs in my EIK. Found these which are similar but have more of a curve to the back. I think they would look OK with the existing arm chairs. 2) Buy 2 of the chairs shown above and hope they blend in enough with the 6 existing chairs. 3) Remove the arms from existing arm chairs to make them side chairs - DH thinks this is easily do-able since it appears that are only attached with 2 screws - and that will give us our 6 side chairs. Buy something like these for the ends of the table. 4) Buy ALL NEW chairs (like from option number one). Re-use 4 for the EIK and put the other 2 (armchairs) in the basement to bring up when we have parties. 5) other suggestions?

First of all, I miss that house
Ok, now for the chairs - I like the first option. The only thing is that the curve is opposite of the existing side chairs - not sure if it would be THAT noticeable.
I say, try it, and if you dont like it, you can always buy two more end chairs in the future. And use the other side chair for the EIK like you were planning to do.

I like this idea. But only if you can fill the holes without any issues.

There are little pegs in the holes now so we could put those back in I guess

If that's the case, I would definitely try this 1st.

Have you looked under the chair/cushion or table for manufacturer information?

If the table is large enough w leaf inserted, could u put the end chairs in the middle and buy two new arm chairs for the heads of the table? You can do a patterned chair in coordinating colors w ur dining room. Ballards has beatiful chairs.
Just a thought!

Thats what I want to do, but remove the arms. It looks like it will be no prob to remove them. The chairs I posted above in option 3 were just an example. If I went that way I would search for the perfect chair.

I know! Lesson learned - I will always buy all pieces from now on. I have the receipt though after all these years! But no good info on there!

Def 3 if you can get it to look perfect.
These furniture stores going out of business all the time are a huge pain in the butt.

I thought option 3 before you even listed it. Looks like those arms would come off easily and I love the look of 2 accent chairs at the heads.

I would either go to or call a Fortunoff outdoor store. Tell them the vendor # and they should be able to tell you who it is made by.
